Vintage Italian Gold Gilt Florentine Wood Wall Plaque Double-oval Children Art
Here's an old Florentine gold-gilt double oval wood plaque with some nice vintage pictures of children playing on it. As you can see. It's not perfect, but in pretty good shape considering this is one of the old ones. There are a few scratches on the paint(please see all pics) but not bad and it still displays very well. This plaque measures a little over 11 1/4" long and is almost 5 1/4" wide. It's 3/8" thick. It has a hanger on the back. You can see the age of the piece by looking on the back. This is a VERY HEAVY gold carved wood urn/basket filled with nuts. Fruit, wheat and grapes,fish.wall hanging etc, that we purchased in the 1970s at the South Philly Italian Festival. My husband had it hanging in his office for over 25 years until retiring. It is signed on the back but i have never been able to make out the name. I do not believe it is antique, probably from the 1960s. There is a SMALL tip of the wood that chipped off over the years Which i point to in the pictures. It measures 25 inches tall by a bit over 12 inches wide and almost 1.75 inches thick. Because it is so LARGE and HEAVY.I need to charge a bit more for shipping and handling. Vintage Florentine Tole Wood Wall Art Plaque Floral Gold Chic Octagonal Tray
Heads Up. Tole-A-Holics! Here is a Florentine tole wooden plaque with the original label on the back. It is just like a tray. But there is delicate molding around the edge and a small hook on the back for hanging. It has the typical shaded, engraved gold edging, which is gesso over wood. In the center there is a lovely botanical bouquet in a vase. The background color is a warm gold, butterscotch or Tuscan gold. However, due to reflection from the camera flash, after the first two photos I turned off the flash. So the first photos show you the richness of the colors, and the others show you the art and design. This is 13" in diameter. It has 8 sides. If you collect Florentine tole and like to hang the trays on the wall as many people do. This one is so easy because it's ready to hang! The condition is as expected for its age, with ... morethe usual chipping of the gold around the edges. Luckily the wear to the gold paint on this one is on the top, so no one will see it when it's hanging up. Look at the pictures carefully and make sure this one is for you.
