This is a large Tole tray that measures 24" by 18" and is in very good condition. The front side features a flower motif on a green background. The back is solid green and has a label for Art Craft products. This tray is in very good condition. There is some paint missing around the edges And some missing where the sides meet the pan. There is also some extra( paint that has been spattered or spilled or Painted on it. I can't tell if it was an accident or an on purpose because of the way the trail of paint misses the flowers. I purchased this antique toleware bin/tea caddy in New York State. About thirty years ago. I am not sure of its exact age, but I would feel confident in saying it is at least 19th century, judging by the painting style. It is likely to be older. The body of the piece is in excellent condition, with no visible dents or breaks. As expected with very old toleware, there are signs of use/wear that I have tried to capture in the above photos. The piece measures 7 inches in width, 7.25 inches in height(at highest point) and 7.33 inches front to back. The floral and geometric decoration is definitely hand painted, as you can feel the paint texture when you run your fingers over it. This item will ship domestically, at no charge to the buyer. This box was probably made in the mid 20th century in the style of a much older tea caddy. The black exterior has been purposely given an alligatored surface to imitate age, the metallic gold and dark brown painting is not a transfer, it is hand painted. There is a little surface rust inside the box and there is paint wear to the exterior primarily on the edges of the box and lid. I think it would look lovely on a bookshelf, table or mantel- a nice place to hide a remote or two. Nicely hand painted tea caddy in pretty good condition-some paint loss as shown in the pictures. The caddy is about 8 inches tall with a diameter of 4 1/4 inches. No holes or repairs on the main body but the lid has a split on the seam which may indicate that it is not original even though the age is correct. Antique Hand Painted Tole Tray Tea Table Circa 1880's This antique hand painted tole tray has a beautiful floral design on the tray with a border and is mounted onto a black lacquered wooden base which allows the tray to stand flat like a screen or turns upward to serve as a table. It has two wooden pegs which go into matched up holes to be able to achieve the two positions of the tray. The base is probably later and was bench made to accommodate the tray. When the tray is not being used as a table it can be used as a decorative fire place screen or for accent in a room. The tray is 21 1/2 by 28 1/2 inches. 14 inch spread between legs, is 25 1/2 inches high as a table, 33 1/2 inches when folded down and is in very good condition with only some minor paint loss due to age wear. Up for auction is an antique 19th Centiry tin toleware hand painted covered tea caddy recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. It is found in good used condition. The interior is quite clean and ready for use. This primitive caddy has very nice patina and its original dry finish. Primary color is black with red pinstripes on top and at the base. There is losses to the original paint exposing rust throughout, normal from use. The top removes freely and easily.
