For sale a beautiful nice early antique all hand painted tole oil lamp. Great for the Tole collector or oil lamp collector. I have owned this item for over 20 years now. Just displayed with my other tole items. Very Unique Shape. I purchased this years ago from a estate sale in Pennsylvania. It is all hand painted with traditional Pennsylvania style. Tulips, in great color's, mustard yellow, robins egg blues, burnt orange with lighter color yellow trim. It is a triangle shaped metal oil lamp. The neck with the cloth wick is solid brass. It has a old metal chain attached to the lid and butterfly shaped handle. It stands 9" tall. 5" across at the bottom x 2 3/4" wide at the bottom. It is signed on one side"MAVEY" It is in great condition for it's age and use, used only as display for it's original wonderful ... morehand painted tole decoration. It no longer holds oil. On the bottom from age their is a small crack which would not allow it to hold oil. You can not see it when sitting up right. I never used it as a oil lamp, just displayed it. There are circular spots where the paint is missing as you can see in the photos. Overall it's an amazing tray at 32 inches long by 23 1/2 inches tall. Could probably use some further cleaning and there is crazing in the paint. Up for auction is a sweet little antique/vintage oil can that has tole painting floral pattern around the outer edge. There are 4 florals with connecting vines. It's simple. Colorful and sweet. It measures about 5 3/4" tall total and the painted base is about 1 3/4" tall. No markings so I'm not sure of the age. Tole Painted Early Tall Olive Oil Can We are calling this an olive oil can but really who knows. It could have been for car oil! What ever the original use. Someone has taken it and transformed it into a wonderful decorative piece of tole ware. The opening at the top probably had a cork stopper as there are no threads for any sort of screw top. The piece was painted black and then tole painted with hearts and tulip sort of flowers. It has a Pennsylvania Dutch sort of look to the decoration. This is not a"thin" tin it has some weight to it, I do believe it's an early piece, not 1950s. We have several pieces of early tole ware for sale this wee and invite you to take a moment and look.
