This is a Vintage Italian Toleware large oval mirror surrounded by flowers and vines. It is 351/2 in from top to bottom and 24 in across. It has 4 removable candle holders At base of mirror. 2 matching sconces that are 18 in tall and 11 in across that have 2candle holders each. Charming Pair of Metal Tole Electric Sconces- These lovely vintage sconces were made in Italy and feature a floral display. They are double light sconces. The bottom switch turns them on. Each measures 12" wide. 10" high to tips of bulbs and approximately 9.5" distance from the wall to the front edge of leaves. The back plate is 4.5" The wiring looks good, but I always recommend testing electric fixtures before use. They both need a little cleaning and one of the white plastic socket covers has a crack in it. However, they have a nice shabby chic cottage style. Offered is a pair of authentic vintage Italian tole or toleware wall sconces that most likely date to 1920-1940. The metal is covered in gold gilt which has worn away in many areas. Contributing to the shabby chic"chippy" look of these two beauties. The sconces are NOT electrified. They are adorned with gorgeous porcelain flowers in shades of lavender. Pink, and yellow. I don't know what kind of metal this is but a magnet does stick to it. The back of each sconce is stamped ITALY on a single leaf(see photo#3) Each sconce measures approx. 15" high x 11-1/2" wide at the lower widest point x 4-1/2" deep from the wall. They are heavy weighing more than 1-1/2 lbs each. There is round original metal hanger on the back of each for easy hanging(see photo#7) Each sconce has two candle cups that are shaped to resemble opening ... moreflower buds with leaves. Lovely! I took photos to show you what the sconces look like with and without candles. You will receive the 4 candles pictured in the photo: I think these are in great vintage condition. In addition to some gilt loss. As noted above, there is some chipping to the porcelain flowers: 4 of the 8 lavender flowers have small chips at the edges but nothing major; 1 of the 4 yellow flowers has a broken petal(about half of the petal is missing- see last photo) but the 4 pink roses are in remarkable condition. VTG pair of Italian gilt Florentine tole ware & wood candle sconces Shadowboxes
This is a vintage pair of metal and wood sconces/shadowboxes. They have an old Italy label and stamp. These pieces are fairly substantial in size. They each measure 38" long by 18" wide and extend 13" from the wall. Measurements were taken at the longest.Widest etc point. The top flower is metal and the candle arms are metal also. The rest is a gilded wood. The middle section has an alcove for putting something- vases,figures etc if you wanted to. vase shown not included) A really pretty pair and unique addition to any home. There has been some aged wear/damage over the years. There have been some breakage of some of the leaves. At some point in time someone touched up the gold gilt on the edges of the broken leaves.
