Most likely of Italian Midici. These, I believe, are from the 1960s. These bookends measure about 6 3/4" tall x 5" wide x 1/2" thick. They have a folding brass base that is 4" deep. They are not marked as they had a paper label that has been lost. But I'm sure they are from Florence, Italy, as I have seen another set on eBay exactly like it with its paper label that says, Fratelli Alinari Lungarno Corsini Firenze Italy. Vintage Italian Gold Gilded Carved Wood Tole Picture Frames - Post 1940
Pair of ornate Italian gilded wall plaques feature velvet matting as background for Renaissance Man and a pair of dancing girls. The carving includes a shell at the top supported by scrollwork coming down on both sides. The pictures are set up in relief above the velvet matting. The rectangular frames have rounded edges and a series of carvings leading down to the matting. A round loop on the back allows for easy hanging. These wall hangings feature warm colors and Old World Charm. The carving is detailed and both pieces are in excellent condition. Each weighs 1.25 pounds and measures 10" X 7" These are lovely. Elegant accent pieces for any room!
