Very Old Antique Wood framed Mirror - awesome, old, and perfectly shabby!!!!
This is a great OLD mirror.I don't know it's era or age. But to me it is perfectly wonderfully shabby! It measures 13 3/4" high x 11 1/2" The wood surrounding the mirror is worn. And cracked in each corner.again.perfectly shabby! Refer to pictures to see what I mean. The actual mirror is also aged. Worn and has many imperfections. Love the imperfections and to me they are BEAUTIFUL! The back of the mirror is wood. Very darkly aged, and held in place by 4 nails; note the wood back is some what loose. This auction is for a beautiful hand embroidered cotton/silk canvas depicting an oriental garden scene with a lady in a rather ornate kimono gathering flowers. Surrounded by birds, dating from the 1930s/40s in what I believe to be it's original gold& cream painted wood frame. Aside from some water marks on the backing canvas. The actual embroidery appears to be bright and in very good condition. The frame does show some signs of age though, compliments the embroidery nicely. There are new loops& string on the reverse so, it's ready to hang on your wall. Measurements: 44.5cm Wide X 54.5cm High. Un-packaged Weight: Aprx. 2.4kg. This auction is for a very sweet hand embroidered Nursery rhyme sampler on cotton canvas. Dating from the 1930s/40s in what I believe to be it's original black wood frame. Condition wise. The cotton canvas may have darkened over time. Saying that, the cotton stitching appears to be bright and in very good condition. The frame does show some signs of age though, compliments the sampler nicely. The backing board(reverse of the frame) was recently professionally re-taped accordingly. Contact me if interested in comparing rates) Upcycled Shabby Cottage Chic Vintage Burwood Framed Mid Century Mirror For your consideration is this beautifully framed mirror that will look perfect in so different many rooms! It was originally all brown(like the color you see from the back side view in my last two photos) and it did nothing for the features of this piece! It has been updated with pretty blue colored chalk paint. Distressed and antiqued in some areas. It was then waxed and buffed to keep it looking beautiful for many years! The only flaw is that the bottom portion of the frame did have damage previously before being upcycled and although this portion of the frame is difficult to see once hung. I have painted and distressed this area to camouflage it even more! Please view the photos ... moreof this area for a better description. The original mirror is still in excellent condition! This piece can have the mirror removed and have a chalk board or memo board added to it instead simply by removing the screws on the backer board. How to hang your mirror perfectly" is still attached to the back of this piece! It is hallmarked BURWOOD PRODUCTS COMPANY. Dated 1972 and numbered#0355. It measures about 33" in height x 18-5/8" wide x just about 1-1/2" deep. The mirror itself measures about 19-1/4" in height x 11-3/8" wide. The brackets are securely attached for wall hanging. Excellent Shabby Antique Ivory Wooden Framed Beveled Hall Wall Mirror
This is an excellent charming antique wall mirror with a very old coat of ivory paint that has a crackle appearance because of its age. The frame is wooden and very sturdy and the glass is thick. Heavy, and beveled all the way around. There is some cloudiness and streakiness from age, but overall, the mirror looks very good. There are no chips or cracks. This is perfectly useable and hangable and has a look that is very versatile; use it as-is or add something to it(antique hat hooks perhaps) There are two screw eyes and a chain attached to the back for hanging, but I'm not sure if the chain is strong enough to hold up the mirror and would consider upgrading to a heavy wire.
