An Italian Florentine trash or waste basket. My guess is that it dates from the 1950's to 1960's era. It stands 10 1/2" high and is about 10" across at the top. It has ornate gold decoration with a green background. Condition is good. But it definitely has been used. The inside is quite dirty and stained. It has some green streaks and stains which was probably original to the piece when it was made. The exterior is in nice shape, but does have some spoting and scratching. On the bottom is a paper label which reads"Florentia/ A decorative craft/ hand made in Italy" There is also an embossed stamp"Made in Italy" A nice decorative waste basket! This lovely Florentia handcrafted wooden"ashtray" is from Italy and looks beautiful on any table as a collector show piece. Note: This has been in our family for years and has NEVER actually been used as an ashtray. It looks more like a square piece of art. I remember it always being on my grandmother's table in her formal living room. The gold leaf and burnished orange coloring are absolutely vibrant. There is green felt on the bottom with the Florentia label that reads: A Decorative Craft. Florentia, Hand Made in Italy. The number 6747 is hand written on the same label.

This is a beautiful petite Florentine/Florentia Italy Cream& Gold Toleware tissue box. It has original label. And is numbered 6625. It has the old wire hinge, decorative carvings and gold gilt tole painting. Beautiful. The box measures a petite size of 5 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" deep x 2" tall. IN GREAT CONDITION- The box has some flaking(age appropriate) and some paint scratches. Old wire hinges are securely in place and work perfectly. Top and bottom meet up exactly. This box has not been washed. Fixed, cleaned or anything else since I have acquired it. It is exactly how it was when purchased- beautifully original: From smoke-free original home.
