Rare 19th century American Federal Huge Tole Paint Decorated Tray
A very large American 19th-century octagonal tole tray with cut in handles and canted corners. It is stencilled and handpainted with a Federal or Sheraton gold tazza design on black ground. With alternate panels with a swag design in gold, and a border of handpainted leaves. It has its original surface and has not been touched up. Measures 30" in length. 22 1/2" in width, and 2" in depth. Heavy weight and good period construction including rolled seams. The weight of the tray is almost 7 lbs. It is in fair to good condition. Large Black Decorated Tole Tray - 24" by 18" - Looks Vintage
I am selling a vintage tole tray that I purchased at an estate sale. The majority of the items at this sale were 50's and 60's and I therefore feel that it is vintage although with an estate sale. You never know. It is large- 24 inches by slightly more than 18 inches and it features a lovely scallop on the edge with a gold vine rim. The decoration is hand painted and it features a fruit motif. There are scratches consistent with age but no dents that I can see. It has a hanger and that is the way I found it- hung on a wall. I will leave it to the Buyer to decide to keep the hanger or take it off. Really nice piece. There will be an additional charge of $10.50 for shipping.
