These two center pieces were made by Denton in England. They are vivid colors and very dainty. Lovely pieces that would be wonderful for a Kentucky Derby party. Easter table or just Spring! I have always known these little gems to be called center drills but they may be known as something else. I use them on a drill press and a lathe to get holes started exactly where I want them and I use them to countersink as well. You may have a totally different use for them as they seem to fit in any chuck and cut holes in anything. There are twenty pieces in total and a couple of them have a broken tip on one end. They have hints of colors and on the fronts and the backs have lettering that says BOYE Patent No. 78963 on one side of the clamp and 1037 on the other side. They are light weight iron. I know that only 2 of these are shown but there is a 3rd one.The 3 fleur de lis ones measure 7 1/4" wide and 3" high. They have hints of color also and are heavier iron. The clamp on 2 of the backs is missing and can be replaced. The 3 fleur de lis finials measure 4 3/4" high and 2" wide and are heavy iron. Questions are welcome. This is a nine piece precision center set for a lathe. The person I got it from said he used it on his Hardinge lathe. I cannot identify the taper on the individual pieces. But the large end of the taper is approx. 1.020" the small end is approx. 600" and it is approx 1.5" long.
