Here are an enamel-painted metal candle snuffer and matching candle holder with a leaf and insect motif. This is vintage Italian toleware. The snuffer is 6 1/2" in length; the holder is about 8" across at the widest point. Stands about 4" high, and has a holds a wide candle of 3" diameter. These show a little bit of wear. I can't recall the number of candle snuffer scissors I've seen over the years. But I cannot recall ever seeing a pair that is painted with its original pinstriping decoration. Here however is such a pair. Measuring 6 1/2" in length, not only is she decorated with a yellow pinstripe over its original black, but she appears to be hand forged as well- a true rarity.
