Up for auction: Antique Pair of French Crystal Sconces. C. 1930s. Unique pair of sconces with pendalogue prisms. While the creator/maker is not known, we believe this pair to be made in France or Italy. The base may be a bronze or copper, since there is some overall pitting of the gold gilt finish with bronze/copper showing through. The overall natural distress and aging is fabulous. Purchased from an estate sale in Florida. We'd hoped to use these in our restoration project of our ca. 1890 home. However, we have changed the decor for the room that this pair was intended, so they were never installed or used by us. JUST REDUCED! These are the most beautiful antique Italian gold sconces from the early 1900's and are in wonderful condition. They each are for two candles. But they could easily be electrified very inexpensively. The center is a very ornately carved shell that is then surrounded by scrolls and leaves with a few carved flowers towards the top. Which is a miracle because of how fragile they are, they even fold back. I looked them over many times and couldn't see any of them chipped, broken, or missing. You are bidding on 2 stunning antique Italian Florentine lighted sconces with their original stickers on the back. My camera truly does not show how beautiful these are. The fixtures have gilded scrolling tole leaves and is dripping in dazzling prisms. There are 27 medium crystals. 28 small and 1 large for a total of 58 crystals on each sconce. There are two arms on each holding 2 lights each. It is in very good condition with good wiring. It shows off its age with some slight paint loss. For your consideration is this beautiful pair of vintage Italian Gold Gilt wall scones. Each one has twelve five petal flowers made of crystals. Each of the arms has a flower beneath the bobeshes. And the arms are lined with macaroni beads. The sconces are 18" tall by 12 1/2" wide and stand out from the wall 6" The back plates measure 5" and the sconces have been newly rewired and the candle covers have been replaced with new antique drip covers. The scones appear to be from the 1950's or 1960's and are in great condition, except for a couple of tiny places in the gold gilt. One small place below the second row of flowers on one of the sconces and the other sconce has a tiny place on the backplate where the gilt is off. Large Hand Carved Polychromed Sconces from Italy These magnificent Italian polychromed sconces are in the form of a cartouche with motifs of flowing acanthus leaves. C and s-scrolls, palmettes, cut-outs and stylized fleur-de-lys. A wrought iron s-scroll with a fleur-de-lis at one end and a bobeche at the other end hangs gracefully at the bottom center. Both of them have been hand carved. These are not wired. But could be if you needed them wired. Would look stunning on a large wall. Dimensions below are for one sconce. Antique Crystal Prism Flowers from Italian Sconces for Chandelier Repair 3 1/8"
For your consideration is this set of four matching antique 3 1/8" flowers made from crystal prisms that came off of an old pair of Italian sconces. They are tied together with wire and wire does feel secure on all of them. Each teardrop prism is 1 1/2" long. There are some tiny flea bites and a few light scratches on the surfaces of the crystals. There is one crystal that has a 1mm chip on one of the lower facets. Each one of the flowers has four crystals face up and one face down. So it must have been part of their design. The flowers are not quite as bright as the photos appear. They are beautiful true green color. PLEASE NOTE: Everything we sell is vintage and may have flaws. OH SO YUMMY PAIR OF SCONCES. This is for a lovely pair of sconces with beaded arms and mirrored backs. They are not electrified and I am not sure if they can be there are no screws inside. However there are holes for wires so you be the judge, perhaps you could glue the sockets in and wire up since there is no screw. I am only selling these because I have a similar pair or I would never part with these macaroni beaded is so hard to find. They are for candles and there is paint loss to the gold areas where you would place the candles so please see photos, I am sure you could touch them up with some gold paint if you wanted to. The mirrored backs have black spotting from age however that just adds to their charm. Up for auction is this pair of Italian white glass drop sconces. Removed from a house that was built in 1968 in a wealthy neighborhood of Longmeadow. MA. Both need a good cleaning. May have a few pieces missing or damaged, Each measures approx. 20" tall and 18" wide. What is pictured is what you get. If you need any additional pictures I can do so on request. If you want to pick up it will/can be intact. If I need to ship it I will have to take a lot of it apart to package for safe shipping. Pair Antique Carved Wood Gold Gilt Italian Candle Sconces Made in Italy
For your consideration is this pair of carved wood gold gilt wall sconces. They feature a ribbon and shield design with 2 metal candle arms and are stamped Made in Italy. They measure 17 1/4" long overall and the backs are about 7 1/4" wide. They protrude about 7 1/2" from the wall. They are wood and not composition and I would guess they date to maybe as early as the 1930's or as late as the 1950's. I think they have a nicely worn always been there look but they do show wear. Soiling and finish loss. Each one does have a small old tight repair to a carved piece but nothing that detracts. All that being said they provide a nice stylish look and are ready to hang and enjoy.
