Antique Early 1900's Pull Down Classroom Map of Asia
For sale is an incredible antique school wall map of Asia that was manufactured in Chicago. Illinois by A.J. Nystrom& Co. This wonderfully aged map is printed on a canvas material and comes with the original metal bracket which still works and is very easy to mount. Due to the fragile nature of the map, it must be removed from the metal bracket to roll it up and down by hand. Have no fear though, it's very easy to do. The original wooden rod is still attached to the bottom of the chart. This map would look great hanging in your library or study or would serve as a great educational work of art in your child's bedroom! Additional details: Measurements(with bracket) Approximately 54.25" Long x 41” wide Circa: 1920's Item Condition: Good antique condition! Colors remain bold and vivid. As noted above. You will need to roll ... moreup/down the map by hand due to its fragile nature. Surface of map has light soilage from years and years of use. Canvas has some normal wear such as wrinkles, bends, frayed edges, light soilage, spotting, etc. The bottom green canvas material has some tearing(as seen in picture#5) as well as water staining and creasing from being rolled up for many years. There is some liquid staining along the bottom and right hand corner corner. Near the bottom center of the map, about 4 or 5 inches below Sumatra, a chunk of the map's surface has worn away, exposing the canvas material beneath. There is also a very small puncture in the map at the very top, along the white border. Depending on how much you unroll the map you may not even see it. We tend to think that each of these flaws adds to the overall wonderful antique look of this piece. Please take a gander at the pictures for further details.

Vintage Metal School Pull Down Map Display / Rack / Holder Holds up to 8 Maps
Up for your consideration is a vintage map holder/rack from a school here in NW Ohio. It holds up to 8 pull down style maps. It is in good vintage condition with some signs of wear. No hardware is included with this. The school used'S' hooks to hang it and that seemed to work well for them. It does have little rubber bumpers at the bottom. The little round buttons that hold the maps are about 1 3/8" diameter 42" wide 21 1/8" tall about 1" total thickness. Thanks for taking a look. It was made by Hearne Bros. It is about 55" inches wide and I am guessing about 72"84" inches inches tall? AWESOME - RARE Space Age Pull Down School Wall Chart Science Vintage Moon map
It's big. It's cool, its SPACE. Here's a teaching aid produced by the Hearne Brothers from, I'm guessing from the illustration work, the late 50s to early 60s. The first two photos show the front and back of the chart. The actual printed area is roughly 66" wide by 50" tall. I've spent some time detailing the defects in photos. There's some water/mildew stains and tears on the edges of the pull bar(not that unusual for pull down charts)
