This is GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL Soviet period medal made by the USSR Mint to be officially issued by the Soviet Government– not one of the fakes that we have seen on the market recently. This is the early. WW2 version, the so-called Variation 1 which is characterized by the separate, soldered eyelet. This variation was made only during the 40s. The medallion is in brass, measures 32 mm wide. The suspension device is early type in brass, of 1940s-50s vintage. The ribbon is not original but fairly old and shows light wear(medals and even the suspensions were routinely replaced by the Soviet WW2 veterans who wore their awards often) The medal is in VERY GOOD condition. Especially for a WW2 Soviet soldier’s decoration. Shows even, moderate wear but the details are still well defined. There is light oxidation to the reverse which is not too detracting. This medal was awarded to one of the participants of the battles in the vast expanses of the Soviet Arctic. This territory included strategic nickel mines and even more importantly. The vital port of Murmansk through which the Soviet Union was getting the lion share of its Lend-Lease supplies. Germans

If the snow and ice should melt due to global warming, the amount of solar heat absorbed by the earth surface ... morewould sharply escalate. This would aggravate the green house effect, which would in turn, exacerbate global warming, continuing a vicious cycle.
