Large Brass Paschal Easter Candle Follower Church Altar 1 7/8" Catholic Mass
This is a single. Antique, old style, brass candle follower from a small rural Catholic Church. It is not in pristine condition(see pictures) It is"size 4" in the traditional numbering system. It would probably fit and work best on an Easter/Paschal candle that is 1 7/8" but I think it would also work just fine on a 1 3/4" and possibly even 1 15/16" candle. It is definitely too small for use on a 2" candle however. The bottom opening of the follower measures about 2.02" with the outside diameter at the bottom being about 2.5" and it stands about 2.4" high. The top opening is about 1.3" I would like to sell this to another church or religious institution.

This is a set of 3 older Pyrex glass candle followers. They are not in pristine condition. But there is no noticeable damage to them other than a little dirt/soot/wax residue. They are sized to fit a 1 1/8" candle. The bottom opening of the followers measures about 1.25" and the height of the followers is exactly 2" I've looked. But I can't find anywhere that they sell these new anymore. The closest thing I can find would be probably $30-35 each for this size. I will begin bidding on these at less than 1/2 the cost of this estimate for new, with free shipping to boot. I would like to sell these to a Christian church or religious institution.

They are not in pristine condition, and have some wax/scratches/blemishes on them, but there is no noticeable damage to them other than the effects of normal use over time. They are sized to fit a 1 1/8" candle and this is even stamped on the outside of the followers. I've even used them on 1 1/4" candles and they'll barely fit over them, but pretty snugly. The bottom opening of the followers measures about 1.25" with an outside bottom diameter of about 1.5" and the height of the followers is 1.8" In looking at the Root Candle Company's website. This is a great-looking pair of antique brass church altar candlesticks with cherubs/angels on them. I'm not certain how old they are. But I would estimate they date circa 1900. Each measures 23 1/2 inches tall(60 cm) They are 8 1/2 inches wide across the feet(21.6 cm) I think these are really special because they each have three cherubs going around them. The cherubs appear to be silverplate over brass. The feet are each an animal paw with a ball beneath it. They are beautifully designed. As you can see in the photos. They are each covered in tarnish. I'm not sure if this can be cleaned or if you'd even want to. The candle holders on top are each bent a little and one has a small break in it. The screws on the bottom insides of each are rusted in place. The individual pieces of the candlesticks can be turned around because of ... morethis. You can basically shape it as you like. Because they have facial images on all three sides of the base, of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. There is a little damage on the base of the shaft of one of them. The finish on them is pretty decent for an older pair like this- it looks like somebody must have polished them at some point. Six 1" #1 Brass Church Altar Candle Follower Mass Catholic Root Dripless Bobeche
This auction is for a set of 6 heavy brass candle followers for a 1" candle. They were made by the Root Candle company and are described on their website as being"draft-proof" Meaning that they supposedly shouldn't drip or spill wax even when air is blowing across them. They are still made by this company and they sell for $49 EACH if you buy them new(these are really some Cadillac-type followers! Some of the things that are different about them are the following: 1. They have an odd interior plastic"lining" or"insulation" the new ones that Root Company sells still have these) I really don't know what that is for. Possibly to make them easier to clean because the wax won't stick to the plastic as much? Possibly to provide some heat insulation so that the brass doesn't get as hot? I don't ... moreknow- I've honestly never seen a set with this kind of thing on the inside before and I've seen a lot of candle followers. 2. They have an odd"lip" at the top. I am pretty certain that this is there to provide extra drip protection. Root company specifically was known for trying to develop followers that would avoid dripping down around the outside of the followers. So these are like followers with additional bobeches attached at the top to save your altar cloths if the candlesticks didn't have bobeches or something? Quality set- well built and in pretty good condition overall.

This is a smoke-cap. Heat-shield, sanctuary-lamp-cover to be placed over the glass globe of a sanctuary lamp in a church. This one is a very common, traditional style but made of a lighter, thinner metal than most of this style. The primary thing that is a little different about this one is it's odd color. Almost all of these that I have ever seen(and I've seen a number of them) are brass/gold in color. This one is more of a real dark brown, almost blackish or dark antique bronze. Be clear before you bid that this is NOT Brass in color. This one is different. The pictures show the dimensions and what you will be getting if you purchase this one. I can't determine what the underlying metal is or if it would shine up with some work.
