Antique COMMON PRAYER BOOK EPISCOPAL Dated 1849 Celluloid Cover Gilt In Box
Antique Book of Common Prayer dated 1849. Episcopal Church. Gorgeous little personal prayer book. Has some outer condition issues. Inside is in beautiful condition. Celluloid cover crack down center. Front left edges 2 tiny minor fissures. Back. Spine, Gilt edges all around are fine. Closure(K. K. Birch) works fine. Silk lined box is rough- stained and does not want to remain closed but offers some protection. Fancy engraved escutcheon on cover. Book inside is in ex. Condition. Complete and unsoiled. Inside first page reverse corner someone has written something in light pencil. I did not attempt to erase it. Estate find. 1921 Antique "Child's Prayer Book" Celluloid Cover Catholic Jesus And Child
Lovely book printed in Belgium for Catholic children by Patrick Cardinal Hayes of New York City. Inscribed for first communion and confirmation in 1925 to Walter Lundquist. Book has celluloid cover and measures 2.5"x 4" x.5" depth. The cover has some wear.top right edge is worn off. Bottom right worn, binding edge has some broken off area top and bottom edges.
