Antique 1914 Wooden Ruler Pears Soap Advertising Treen - 3 year Calendar to rear
Pears' Soap Wooden Rule Offered for auction is this lovely and rather unusual piece of advertising ware; a 12 inch wooden rule promoting Pears' Soap. The front of the rule displays advertising in black lettering. With a three year calendar, for 1914, 1915 and 1916, to the rear. This item has been made from a golden hue wood and is a real quality piece. It displays typical wear for its age, with areas of rubbing, indentations, scratching and discolouration to the wooden surface. There is a section of wood missing from the top left hand corner, measuring approx. 4.5cm in length. The rule has a scale, which measures up to 12 inches in lenght, but the actual piece maesures approx. 14 inches(35cm) in length. The wood displays a lovely patina that only comes with genuine age. Vintage Lot of Three Hand Painted Wooden Eggs Very Colorful For Your Wood Eggs Collection Details Description: A lot of three hand painted wood or wooden eggs. The eggs are of varied size and varied decoration. The largest egg has a flat bottom and has a hand painted floral design. This egg has the initial XB on the back with a golden cross under the initials. The front has a beautiful and very colorful floral bouquets surrounded by green leaves all over a black background. The piece is reminiscent of lacquered Russian ware. The second egg is a very colorful bursting decoration with gold leaf rays and a lot of red and orange all over a black background. Again this egg is lacquered over and is just beautiful. Finally the third and smallest egg is decorated with hand painted geometric pattern consisting of fine lines either intersecting or ... morerounded to give a floral impression in colors of gray. Pink, yellowish gray, and greenish gray on a red background. Both the second and third eggs are unsigned and have no lettering of any sort and both have crazing to the lacquering. Finally the third egg(Geometric design) is 2 1/8" long and 1 1/2" wide. Maker: Unknown. Marks: The large egg is marked KT90. While the other two are unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: This is definitely a beautiful set of vintage hand painted wood eggs. Condition: The eggs are in excellent condition. They do not have breaks. Repairs, nicks or cracks. The finish on the large egg is also free of crazing, while the finish on the two smaller eggs has considerable crazing. Here is an interesting circa 1920 vintage carved wall shelf measuring 12" tall by 8 wide and 4 1/4" deep" The shelf has been well used and could be folded flat when not in use. Vintage ornate gilt 11.5 inch x 9.5 inch wooden picture frame
This picture frame came from my late mother in-laws home. It measures 11.5 inches x 9.5 inches. The frame is old pine with what appears to be gilt plaster mouldings. The gilt is worn in places and there is a small chip out of one corner. My wife is the oldest child in the photo which puts the frame at least 60 years old.

I don't know for sure that it's oak, but it sure looks like it. The main part is made from several pieces of wood glued together and then put on a lathe. You can still see the marks on the bottom from the lathe. The top circle is a single piece of wood, the bottom circle is made from two pieces, and then there are three feet on the bottom. There is a"crack" running down the side which makes it obvious it wasn't ... moreturned from a single piece of wood. The same can be said for one side of the bottom circle. Antique Victorian design wall shelf.It's a Turner Wall Accessory by Turner.The tag is still attached to the bottom of the shelf.The design is very detailed and gold in color.The frame and the top are made of wood. This is an useful item. But an extraordinary set! Let me start with the dust pan. 9 1/4" across x 8 5/8" tall and all carved from one piece of wood. It has a decorative twist handle that is carved too. There are a couple missing nicks around the edge, but it is old(great patina) and wood does splinter. These are old nicks, not recent. The inside of the pan is carved with three flowers that look like edelweiss to me. Which reminds me of Sound of Music so I put them at Germany/Austria, a bit earlier, maybe when Mother Superior was a girl. The background of the flowers even has a patterned carve. You have to hold this to appreciate. It weighs 4 oz. and the back is smooth(see pic.4) The brush is wonderful. 12" long x 3" across x 1 5/8" w/bristles, 5/8" for just the wood. It is carved with the same 3 Edelweiss flowers, ... moreand a double twisted handle. At first I thought it one piece of wood, but I believe that this is two pieces together because of the bristles having to be attached to the handle. The wood on the front of the brush is separating slightly and goes back to the end of the bristles. You can just make out a faint line where they are connected. There is a bit of damage I just noticed on the end(see pic. 11) It must have been done while I was taking pictures. I will include a picture in the lineup. Brush weighs 3 oz. One of a kind set! Up For Your Consideration: Nice old wooden butter mold/ butter press. I believe this was used to mold 1 pound blocks of old fashioned farmstead butter. Box measures approximately 5 1/2" x 3" x 3 1/4" and was built with tongue and grove craftsmanship. Item shows wear. This is a superb and an unusual 19thc oak carved panel with the head of a gargoyle protruding from centre of panel. The attention to carved detail is really excellent. The gargoyle is beautifully carved with wonderful facial detail. He had headware which covers all of his head exposing just his face. The headware has short pointed horns to top. Dimensions: 7.25" height x some 6.75" width. This carved gargoyle is in overall excellent age commensurate condition. Description- This table has been stored inside a residence as a unique conversation piece. It fully finished with much character. Especially the top. It was constructed for heavy-duty use(obviously had some in its previous life) With use of large bolts and screws. This rustic work bench includes 5 drawers that open easily and a working vise. The top is 2-1/4” thick. 52” long, 22-1/4” deep and 32-1/2” high with many wear marks, but smooth finished edges. Part of the top has a recessed tray(on the back side of the top) that measures 45-1/2” long. 7” wide, and 1-1/4” deep. The back of the table is finished and in very good presentable condition. Here's a 19th century all wood hand made sugar bucket with the name Wilder P Clark impressed in the lid. It has notched slats. A chamfered edge bottom inside and out, wood knob pivots for the handle, and bands with tacks and staples on the very ends. The bucket measures 11 7/8" not including the handle. The top is 11 7/8" across. Everything is together. A couple slats have a little play, and there is a thin vertical nail in the top of one joint. The bands are tight. The lid has a few small wispy, very flat, white lines of old residue on one side. There's a crack line in the lid and it goes through underneath, with a 2" long piece out of it, but the lid is still tight in the band. There's a second smaller shallow crack line on the top only. This estate piece was recovered back in the 1960's from an estate that included numerous antiques and collectibles ranging in age from the 1850's to 1930's. This is a 1st time auction for this piece. The condition is excellent and of course you will notice an old label with some faded nomenclature visible. There's also some old glue residue that may have once included a small label. A very nice vintage pair of ebony wood(I believe) bookends with elephants. The wood appears to be inlayed with small pieces of bone. I would think that these date to the first half of the 20th century. The base and back are dovetailed together. Condition is very nice. Each measures about 5 3/4" by 2 1/2" at the base and stands about 5" tall. Condition is pretty good. One of the elephants is missing a tusk and a piece of inlay for the eye. Both on the same side. They are being offered as found.

Their clothing and shoes makes me believe this was taken during the 1930's, but I am not certain. I do know it is an old picture frame and photograph. The frame is made of wood and the area containing the photograph tilts. It measures 10 1/2" tall and it is 9" wide across the bottom. It is in good condition with some small discoloration areas and some tiny paint area. Where the paint did not adhere. On the bottom edge are some paint chips. There is felt on the bottom for protecting your furniture. The back has a cardboard covering, which shows wear. Considering its age. All are marked BA800 or in the bracelets case, GM as well. This is a stunning set. The BA represents BARI and the silver mark for ITALY. 800 Silver was the minimum content used by Italian silversmiths in the 1920's and 1930's. These pieces were products of BARI. Which was the area in Southern Italy where these were produced. Each was tested and is the 800 or higher silver content. Each has an abalone backing and carved mother or pearl cameo. Pair of Vintage African Man and Woman Wood Hand Carved Figurines
Measuring 11 1/2" tall by 1 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" deep these hand carved African man and woman wooden figurines represent traditional activities. The woman is carrying a bundle on her head and the male is blowing on a musical instrument. These were purchased on a trip to Africa in the 1970's. Not signed or marked. Good Patina- Great Condition.
