For your consideration we are offering a rare 5 volume lot of Vatican City newspapers entitled L'OSSERVATORE ROMANO bound in hardcover. Spanning each week starting July 1990 and running consecutively through December 1992. These are the original/actual Vatican newspaper, single weekly editions in English translation. The condition is quite good exhibiting wear commensurate with age and use. The bindings appear to be strong with some wear in evidence. There are a few scuffs and abrasions on the exterior of the books and some internal pages which have been gingerly mended with tape, in our opinion, doing nothing to detract from their wonderful appeal. All papers evidence their original fold and are in black and white. We are uncertain as to what materials they are bound with. Each book is black in color and is highlighted on the front and ... morespine in golden letters, L'OSSERVATORE ROMANO WEEKLY EDITION IN ENGLISH followed by the dates that each volume encompasses. The information contained within is interesting beyond description and informative. Many photographs, artworks and other images grace the pages. The time period which the newspapers cover is during the papacy of John Paul II, exhibiting his letters, notes, prayers and messages. Articles pertaining to Vatican activities and individuals both inside and outside the city walls are abundant. Information regarding miracles, new saints, old martyrs and more are also here. A special edition in Italian is incorporated into the 1991 volume. Each year appears to have a general index for reference. The books are substantial in weight. Each item measures approximately 17 inches in height, 12 inches from side to side and an inch in depth give or take as they differ slightly one from the other.
