Great Military Figural Nutcracker The nutcracker is made of light colored wood. Is unfinished and has been hand carved. A family member brought this back from a military station long long ago. The nutcracker stands about 7 1/4" tall. It has seen some wearwith some dirt in the wood and has a few chips and some light scuffing and dents. I have had them sitting on a hgh shelf for the past 20 years but I don't know how old they are. I think the soldiers are all hand carved and hand painted. The two soldiers on the horses are about 10 1/2" high. 7" wide, and 3 1/2" deep. The soldiers that are standing are about 8 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" wide, and 2 1/2" deep. One solder on a horse has the spear broken off but I have the spear and it fits perfectly and just needs gluing. The other soldier on the horse has a spot where the flag has broken off but I have included the flag and it just needs gluing. One of the standing soldiers is carrying a musket or gun. Two of the standing soldiers have one small hole by each hand which I think had spears but I ... moredon't have them. One soldier has one small hole by the hand for a missing spear or? You have to look closely to even see the holes and they do not distract from the appearance of the set. The canons all have metal plates identifying them as Canon Marina Espanola(Siglio XVIII) which is about 4 3/4" by 2 3/4" by 2 1/2" I think it is totally intact. Number 2 canon says. Montero Plaza Siglo XVI" and is about 4 1/2" by 3" by 3 1/2" One tack is missing from the back but it is otherwise in great condition. Number 3 canon says. Canon De Sitio Siglo XVI" and is about 5" by 2" By 2 3/4" It has one small chip out of the wood about 1/4" Number 4 canon says. Gustina De Aragon Siglo XIX" and is about 6 1/4" by 2 3/4" by 2 3/4" One tack is missing from the wheel but it is also is great shape. Please use the zoom feature to see all of the details.
