Vintage Finnish Hand Carved Wood Woman Jumping Out of Boots Hugging Man Finland
Here is a very unique and whimsical Finnish Hand~Carved Wooden Sculpture. It is carved out of one solid block of wood so there is no glue or nails holding the figures together. It has a varnished finish. The woman is so excited to see her man that she has literally jumped out of her boots and has her arms wrapped around his neck! He is teetering back on his heels and by the grimace on his face. He may not be as happy about her hug as she is. She has a huge smile on her face. The carving is 7" tall(including the base) x 4.75" wide x 2.25" deep. It is signed on the bottom by the Finnish craftsman: A. KAVE'N. My guess is that his name is actually a much longer Finnish name but he abbreviated it for the purpose of this signing. The details are exquisite: the folds in the clothes. SHOE APPEARS TO HAVE THE MAKERS NAME& THE DATE"77 ON THE BOTTON; CAN ONLY MAKE OUT THE FIRST NAME RON. THE SECOND SMALLER BLACK SHOE MEASURES ABOUT 5" LONG& JUST UNDER 3" THIS ONE HAS A CUTE MOUSE CARVED ON THE BOOT- TOE AREA. IT HAS A HOLE IN THE SIDE UNSURE IF THIS WAS INTENDED? BOTH A VERY NICE DISPLAY PIECES.

He still carries his German charm. A great addition to your carved treasures, great starting low bid!
