This is a most stunning and quite superb carved gothic wooden walnut heraldic panel with the relief carving of the winged cherubs. Gargoyles, scottish thistles, shell and other intricate carvings of which: During our research we have been informed it dates from the gothic period of the 18th century and is of scottish origin. Dates about c1780. Text to the top and at the base. Remember true to the end" to the top with to the base: Home of Welderburne. Welderburne and the heraldic logo relate to the scottish castle of the same area. Dates certainly from the 18th century. Certainly a quite superb relief carved wooden panel with: The heraldic emblem to the top with the eagles and unicorn with the central shield. To the sides. Top and bottom, the winged cherubs sitting on the leaves. Four winged gargoyles. To the base. The shell carving with ... moretwo more winged cherub carvings. Also two horses with the trumpet vase bodies with the side decoration rising from. Centrally a frame with scottish thistles. Roses and leaf carvings. Carved in relief. I looked at the chain with my magnifing glass trying to determine the kind of wood,I believe it to be walnut,as there is a strong grain and on the corners rounding"cross-grain" in vey much peppered with"holes" as the end grain. even Rosewood was used in hand carved, I have a serving glassed in piece that I believe to be rosewood there is a hint of knots as in that also.The links are about 2 1/8" x1 5/8"As to how well the carver was judged to be I can not judge how good. Antique Carved Walnut Wood Panel Architectural Salvage Organ Piano Music Holder
As the title indicates. This is a heavy, neat old organ or piano top with its original music book holder. It's ready for a"new life" or a piano/organ searching for a panel. Please review all the photos. As above mentioned, this has several mends, some of which could have been done with a little more skill so the new owner may want to sand to refine the finished look or soften the glue and then re-glue. The round sculpted/scalloped music holder has a tray just below it which has a mend on each side, the forefront of the piece also has two mends(this is a piece which is set/attached to the main body of the piece) and can be removed as it is attached with tiny nails which look as if they will be easily removed. There is a separation at one end as shown but nothing too significant. part of its"character. This is certainly more ... morebeautiful than the photos reflect. The walnut is rich, dark and the patina is inviting. It measures about 44" wide and 16-3/8" from front to back and about 14" high to the top of the knob/finial. NOTE: In order to protect all parts of this piece, it will be dismantled prior to shipping and the new owner can replace the screws and parts him/herself. it will be quite simple land I will take extra photos(just in case)

PAIR OF ANTIQUE HAND CARVED WALNUT SCULPTURAL BOOKENDS- DON QUIXOTE AND SANCHO PANZA– carved in the black forest style. Condition is good– some fading(probably from the light on the backs– see photo) The side edges of the books. Have a little fading to the black coloring, especially to the gold lettering of the book name on one. No cracks, no chips. Each bookend is firm. The pair of the bookends weigh about 2 pounds before any packing materials. The figures have wooden pegs attaching them to the bases. Incised design into the wood on the flat fronts. Both figures have the original matte finish– shine is from my camera glare. No maker’s name on the bottoms. The Don Quixote bookend is about 7 ¾ inches tall. Up for auction an original carved owl signed by Dan McGill. I'm not familiar with this artist but I found this at an estate auction in Kansas and I believe it was done locally. It is quite large measuring approximately 20" wide and stands about 13.5" tall. According to the artist signature on the bottom it is made of walnut on I believe it says Persimmon base but he misspelled persimmon. There are small chips to each ear. The base of this wood sculpture is carved from walnut and the birds are carved from maple both of wihich have been stained to retain the beauty of the wood. The woman whom I purchased the piece from said it was carved in the late 1950's or early 1960's. She could not remember it's exact origin. That was all she could tell me. I took it to a wood worker that verified that it was truly walnut and maple. The piece is signed. Although, I do not know anything about the artist that carved it. The base is signed as walnut and is numbered. The sleakness of the birds is truly beautiful. They remind you of seagulls in flight. He did suggest that the dial rod that holds the large bird should maybe be glued with wood glue into the base to hold it more securely since it is easily removable. Vintage Carved Walking Stick, Victorian Era, Walnut Park, Relief Carved Leaves
Offered for your consideration is this wonderful carved wood walking stick. Most of it is carved in high relief with leaves and vines. It is in excellent condition with no breaks. It has a wonderful patina that I will not attempt to clean. There is only one very small chip that measures about 1/8" by 1/8" on one of the leaves. Near the handle is a large leaf that reads. Walnut Park" and a"M. T. These are probably the maker's initials and I am not sure which Walnut Park they are talking about, but you collector's might know more. On the handle is some Eastlake type carving. The lady that I bought this from thought it dated to the 1880's or 1890's. It is 35 5/8" long and weighs 7.4 oz. This would make a great addition to your walking stick. Or cane collectibles. Offered at no reserve.

A very unusual hand carved figure of a shore bird. Carved from a single piece of wood I believe to be walnut. Feathers are very detailed, figure stands approximately 9" in height. Brown in color. Found this at a thrift store, do not anything about maker or age, thought it was very interesting. Took someone a long time to carve.
