This antique hand carved wall plaque It is carved in total relief from a single piece of wood except the hands.These antique Black Forest pieces are hard to find- especially in this massive size. The intricate carving depicts a man holding his hands out. The realistic carving and attention to detail give this piece a commanding presence. The plaque has it's original finish which is worn here and there down to the natural wood underneath. This provides a nice contrast with the natural wood and the antique finish. The overall condition of this carving is excellent- it has a small repair on the left hand. But you hardly notice it. This great looking hand carved Black Forest Ibex Mountain Goat is in very good antique condition. This handcarved Ibex Mountain Goat measures 12' tall x 6 1/2' wide at the ears and comes off the wall 7 inches. The goat has some drying superficial cracks that are pictured and one horn has had a repair that is also pictured. This Ibex may have been the centerpiece of a large ornate wall plaque but is just a terrific looking head mount now. The Ibex has glass eyes and is a stunning Black Forest piece from Germany. I picked this piece up from a Roman Catholic Priest's collection that went to auction after he passed. I have many other fine Black Forest carvings that I will be listing on Ebay. Double Eagle Wall Hanging. 26" Tall X 23" Wide X 2.5" Deep. Weighs 6 lbs. Condition: The Crown has broken off and been re-glued on well. The claw on the right as your looking at it, is broken off and missing. The piece has 2 back cracks, of which 2 appear to be all the way through on the left side and 1 all the way though on the right side. I do not know the origin or history of this item. The detail looks good to me. Although I have not tried it, this appears to be a crossed swords display holder. The Plaque is made of 3 pieces of wood, apparently the middle block is their to raise the sword above the carving and the top piece is to squeeze down on the swords when you tighten the nuts on the back. I have not tried this and I do not know how hearty this is, so before you put your $1000 sword on this, please test it with a flat ... morepiece of metal of the same weight. This listing is for an attractive handmade wooden owl. It is a wall hanging with the owl carved and done in brown and mounted on a board that is blue-green in color. The owl clutches a real twig in his talons. Thank goodness it is not a mouse! The board that the owl is on measures approximately 12 inches(30.5 cms) long by 4.75 inches(9.5 cms) wide. However. The overall width, including the stick, is 9.25 inches(23.5 cms) In good. Used condition. It does have some dings, scrapes and marks from being handled over the years.
