Where to begin? This walking stick? has been on my mind for months. I can find nothing like it. 40 Inches Long and just shy of 13 inches around at the ... morewidest part. It is unique! Ornate carvings of what appear to be samurai(2) and the typical carved mushroom flower ribs at the top adorn this piece of bamboo? It would be the largest piece I have ever come across. The carving is amazing to me! The facial expressions and the armor is awesome. The burn patterns add to the piece. There are cracks in the piece. Please see the pictures. I have tried to give you the best idea of what I have to offer here. I can take a send more pictures if there is something I need to look for. I see no signature or markings of an artist. Questions are welcome. Comments will be entertained as well. I am not an expert and have no idea what this was used for. This items was purchased with many canes. The former owner had it for years and had no history other than it was probably purchased at an auction he attended years ago.

A 19th century, antique, 40" long, birch chip-carved walking stick. The carving, I believe, is in the style long associated with first nation Micmac, ... moreand Maine Passamaquoddy and Penobscot tribes, but also with the French Canadians who interacted with them. Very similar work in this style is often encountered in the handles of Penobscot clubs, and, also, crooked knives, tools associated with both Native American and Quebecois culture. As with baskets associated with the tribes, much of the material we currently see in the marketplace, probably including this walking stick, were produced by the craftsmen of the tribes for the tourist trade. The stick is in very good condition, with a very attractive un-touched surface, slightly bowed, but with no damage to the carving. The initial "R" is crudely scratched into all four faces.

Antique walking stick handle of carved dog with glass eyes and a mechanical mouth which I believe is meant to be a glove holder. The base of the neck is 12 mm in diameter. It has wear to his ears. His right ear has wear and what appears to be a chip out of the front flap. His left ear has wear as well and what appears to be a chip out of the back flap of the ear. The inside of his mouth has been painted red. I am by no means a walking stick handle expert, so please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We found this vintage cane at an estate sale. It has a very nicely shaped handle that looks like a sea bird's head. There are three types of wood on the cane. The head. Pupil in the eye and middle band on the neck are a reddish-color. The eye and two bands on the neck are light wood. The whole cane portion is a beautifully grained medium color wood. I think the redish o ne is the Miro wood that Pitcairn Island carvings are known for. Stamped. One letter at a time(they're slightly uneven) on the birds face is"FROM PITCAIRN ISLAND" Varnished and 36" long, made from solid wood, no additional tip on the bottom. My best guess is that it dates to the mid-century era. This is a stunning antique 19th century hand carved wood stylized bull dog walking stick/cane. it is carved with an abundance of very intricate derailing and set on a natural. Very sturdy, thorn-wood shaft which has a wonderful patina from age and natural look. The handle is completely hand carved and is a stylized depiction of a bulldog. it has is a cartoonish depiction and he has one large eye and one squinting small eye. he is also sticking out his tongue which is painted red along with his beautifully carved nose. his ears stick back and his eyes are set with black glass. the larger eye is in the shape of a cut black diamond. right underneath the handle is a dimensional bronze flower which is detailed and has a nice patina from age. the bottom of the cane is finished with a solid bronze tip. the cane measures 34 1/2 inches long by 2 1/4 ... moreinch wide. it is in nice antique shape. Vintage Carved Wooden Man Figurine Prospector Miner Walking Stick Bag Tall 14"
Up for auction is a cool carved prospector man complete with prospector's bag and walking stick. He stands 14.25 inches tall and base width is 4.75 inches. He has been living in our household since 1985. When we got him his hat had some wood loss on each side of the front brim of the hat. The right side loss is ½ inch long and the left side runs about 1.5 inches. I think you could sand the hat edges a little and apply a bit of walnut stain and most likely it would not even show. If this was a concern, Other than that the old strings on the purse or bag looks to have some loss but still hangs well from his hand. The base is covered in some sort of felt. Dragon Carved Bamboo Vase or Cane Stand_ This is a wonderful vase or cane stand with dragon motif carved in Bamboo- Impressive piece. The looks Japanses in style to me. But could be Chinsese too, not sure. No sure what the original intended purpose is, but was used as a walking stick stand, but the inside doesn't go all the way to the bottom becasue one of the Bamboo segments/ solid seperators is there. Has one long crack- Cracks in bamboo are expected with age. I have included several photos of the character of the vase including features in the bamboo. I beiieve it is a depiction of a Yorkshire Terrier- an incredible hand-carved wood cane or walking stick handle. The eyes appear to be glass but not 100 percent certain(they are set back int he carving and it is hard to be sure but they appear to be glass) The style of this is amazing- the ears looks amazing as does the rest of the carving of this pooch. Vintage Carved Walking Stick, Victorian Era, Walnut Park, Relief Carved Leaves
Offered for your consideration is this wonderful carved wood walking stick. Most of it is carved in high relief with leaves and vines. It is in excellent condition with no breaks. It has a wonderful patina that I will not attempt to clean. There is only one very small chip that measures about 1/8" by 1/8" on one of the leaves. Near the handle is a large leaf that reads. Walnut Park" and a"M. T. These are probably the maker's initials and I am not sure which Walnut Park they are talking about, but you collector's might know more. On the handle is some Eastlake type carving. The lady that I bought this from thought it dated to the 1880's or 1890's. It is 35 5/8" long and weighs 7.4 oz. This would make a great addition to your walking stick. Or cane collectibles. Offered at no reserve.

Beautifully carved wooden dog walking stick handle with moving mouth. There is a lever under the head/jaw where you can open the mouth. Size: Approx 2" high. From nose to the back of the ears it is about 1.25" and the bottom measures about.5 in diameter. Condition: Good condition. Shows wear from use and age. Dogs mouth in good moving condition. Eyes intact. Collar intact. Scrape on right top jaw. Original patina. Cleaning up the buyer. I am no expert in this kind of thing. So please look at the picture, as item is sold as seen.
