Several chips in the feet, it is missing its tusks, and it has one light spot above his ear and one on its belly. I am not sure what caused the spots or if they are removable. A wonderful collection of Primitive Folk Art paintings on antique wooden bannisters of people. The bannisters were cut in half and the artists painted a person to create a wall hanging. I was told that these were done locally years ago. But two have markings or signatures on the reverse"P. Poole/ St. Thomas 1969" The two signed ones appear to be by the same artist and are a little better exectued than the other 4 which are not signed. The signed ones are the first two. The last two appear to be from the same bannister rail. Each measures about 22" to 24" and have a great surface patina. 4 of the 6 have small hooks for hanging. The hook is missing on two of them. They have a wonderful folk art imagery and my guess is that they were all created about the same time in the 1960's. Antique Vtg Carved Wood Monkey Ape w Glass Eyes Japanese Netsuke Okimono
This is a great little monkey with very detailed carving in very good condition. He has a surprised expression on his face& his fur is very nicely depicted. He is seated. Eating what could be a banana or other fruit and his tail is wrapped around his legs on one side. His eyes appear to be white glass with a black pupil. The wood has a very nice patina. He stands about 3 5/16" tall. There is a little dark spot on the inside of his left leg- not sure if that's a knot in the wood or something else. There is a drilled 8mm hole between his tail and his leg. You can see that a cord could go between that hole& the opening of his arms. We are unclear on his age. He's really a charming fellow! But I bought these along with two old duck decoys from an estate with many rare antiques and thought they might have some value. the red bird measures 6.25" long and 3.5" high. The black measures 6" long and 4.25" high. They look to be in original condition. Smaller red brown bird's tail is chipped-that one is signed on the bottom"BROWN TOWEE" may have meant"Towhee" Not sure what kind of bird the black one is. Antique Vtg Pair of Hand Carved Black Forest German Wooden Lamps Lights This is a Pair of Antique Vintage German Hand Carved Black Forest Wooden Lamps/Lights that are of Night Watchman carrying Lanterns. Measure aprox 27" tall in total height. The Men themselves are aprox 18" and 8" diameter at the bases. These are Wonderful Pieces to display and are very Old. In as is condition as they have scratches. Scuffs, some peeling and cracking in the wood in places, small chips and Dusty. The cords have been cut off as the wire was hard, brittle and not safe. Wow great German Black Forrest Whistler. It is hand carved with great detail. It is an automaton. The head turns back and fourth and whistles to a tune when key wound and turned on works. Key is a bird. It is about 19" tall, 5 1/2" wide and 3 1/2 deep. Automaton is in nice condition for its age. Antique VTG Signed Hand Carved Wood Ladle AMAZON S. American Indian Heads Figure
Here is a really cool ANTIQUE OR VINTAGE hand carved wood ladle or hanging planter. I don't know which) It depicts two woman which appear to be from the Amazon/ South American Indian descent. The handle has hand carved figures of an indigenous woman squatting while the rest of the upper handle forms her long hair. This Hand Carved Wood Ladle measure approximately 20" high x 4.5" wide x 6" deep. The face and figure is in excellent condition. It has a beautiful patina on it. It look to be made of teak wood. This unique figure are easily hung on the wall. The inside of the ladle is curved but you could possibly fit a small glass votive candle in it.

He is beautifully carved, and has a rich, dark antique patina- the piece has darkened with age to a dark walnut color, and has a smooth satiny feel to the wood from lots of handling over the years.
