Vintage Dala horse figure and pin These are a great set. One to wear and one to display. The figure measures 4 inches tall. And about 3 3/4 inches head to tail. The pin measures 3/4 of an inch long. And 7/8 of an inch tall. They are both in good condition with no missing paint or chips. The pin on the little one is tilted upwards a bit but still functions as it should. CHARMING VINTAGE HAND-CARVED, HAND-PAINTED FOLK ART WOODEN HORSE FIGURE FIGURINE
T his is a charming. Vintage. Hand-carved and painted horse figur ine that has been in my family for some years. It has a definite fol k-art feel to it. And it is in excellent condition with no chips, splits, cracks or repairs that I can see. It measures approximately 5-1/2" long by 5-7/8" tall. And because the wood is very light weight I am as suming it is carved from pine. But I cannot be certain of that f act. It appears somewhat lighter in the photos than it is in real life- in person it is more of a medium brown tone and the red and green colors are more mu ted than they appear in the pictures. This would be a darling addition to anyone's folk art or horse collection. I've even had it on my Christmas tree! This auction features a great vintage hand carved wooden bear. This comes from a beautiful rustic estate in Maine. This wonderful bear stands about 5 inches tall and is about 8 inches long. I think he is carved from pine. The bottom of one of his feet is carved RR and hand written ODNEY. There are some other letter or numbers that I can't make out. A rare addition to any collection. Vintage Albert Clock Hand Carved Red Cedar Wood Folk Art Bird On Driftwood Runs
This is an interesting combination piece. Attached to the clock is a beautifully hand carved cedar bird on a piece of driftwood. Paper labels on the back of the clock(which is signed"Albert" identify it as"Made in Albert's Inferno" in Oregon. And sold only at shows or in the family gallery. In its wood frame the clock is 14" tall and 10" wide. The bird is 4 1/4" long from tail to beak, and 2 1/2" tall from its metal legs to its back. There are two holes in the top for hanging. I don't know the age of the clock, but a note on the back mentions that new batteries were installed in 1978. The bird is in excellent condition. The clock is running and keeping time. The frame is sturdy. Folk Art Circa 1940 Hand Carved Wooden Eagle Pin Signed Rare Vintage Unusual
Here is a hand carved wood very detailed eagle. When I purchased this at a tag sale recently everyone was passing it up. When I picked it up the woman behind the table said it was from Germany and in the bag with the eagle is a piece of paper which reads(Circa 1940. Hand- crafted Valuable) The piece is signed MB or it could be a MR. Eagle is very detailed and very nicely painted with perfect detail. On the top of the eagles head is a fine crack in the paint which is probably from age. On the eagles wing tip 2 and 4 have the top chipped off. Then there is 2 very small places that the paint has come off and it blends in with all the other brown on the eagle. Description CARVED WOOD BIRD Offered for bids is a Primitive Folk Art bird figurine hand carved from a single piece of wood. Posed with body stretched upright and tail fanned. Beak joins with the open work base. Grooved/cut feather lines and light texturing on base. Surface is natural with no varnish or finish. Figurine is approximately 7 3/4" high from base to tips of tail feathers. Light for its size. Weighing just two ounces. From an estate auction- unfortunately I have no history on the piece. Wood type is not known. Color is a medium dark brown with lighter warm brown striations running through it, some of which are slightly raised and textured. Piece is not marked. This pair of pigs was found at an estate sale of a very prominent family in Central Kentucky. They collected many important carved pieces. We were lucky enough to have been able to procure these two. Vintage Finnish Hand Carved Wood Man Playing Guitar & Singing Finland Folk Art
Here is a very unique and whimsical Finnish Hand~Carved Wooden Sculpture. It is carved out of one solid block of wood so there is no glue or nails holding the parts together. It has a varnished finish. A man with longish hair. Wearing a suit and bow tie is playing guitar and has his mouth wide open as he is singing away to his heart's content! By the expression on his face you can tell that he is singing as loudly as he can and lovin' what he's doing! The carving is 7" tall(including the base) x 3.5" wide x 2" deep. It is signed on the bottom by the Finnish craftsman: A. KAVE'N. My guess is that his name is actually a much longer Finnish name but he abbreviated it for the purpose of this signing. Very nice details, the piece is 18" by 11" aged patina and some wear to the outer wood, tiny nail holes, may have been mounted to something, I purchased this years ago at an estate sale, the man having the sale was in his eighties, he said it had belonged to his father, his mom threw it out and his dad found it and hid it away for many years. This item is a hand carved and hand painted wood duck figurine/decoy. The duck was purchased at Chincoteaque. Va. The figurine is not signed. This duck is grouped as Folk Art. The bird is 6" long from tip of the beak to the end of it's tail. The bird stands 2.75" high from the bottom to its highest point(top of it's head) The duck is 2" wide at it's widest point. The duck has glass eyes. He is used and he is old so he does have some blemishes. The duck has some bumps and there are a couple of small areas on the beak that the paint is scratched off. This is a remarkable. Hand-carved folk art rendering of a hyena. It appears to be 50+ yrs old. The grandchild of the former owner was unsure of it's origin. She claimed that her maternal grandparents and great-grandparents were world travelers. This is a"naive" Folk-art piece. It is a stylized hyena. The"artist" had only applied linear"spots" to one side of the piece, as well as the belly. There are traces of an orange"wash" The black wash on the snout has faded, as well. Offered is a Set of Two Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Folk Art Musicians. Each player measures approx. 16” tall. And the base is approx. 4 5/8” in diameter. Both are in good vintage condition with no cracks or broken components. The left ear on each player is very small. Especially the trumpet player. It appeared at first that the ears were broken off, but close examination shows that they are stained with the same finish as the rest of the bodies. The reason for the small ears is unknown. Maybe it’s a hidden message or trademark signature by the artist? The top clear coat glaze is very shiny in some areas and nearly matte in others. There are craftsman’s tool marks visible on each figure. Consistent with that of true hand crafted and hand finished wares. There is some fading to the gold accents on the cello. There is also a gold paint mark ... moreon the rear of the cello player. The reason for this mark is unknown as well.
