Vintage GERMAN Hand-Carved Angel with beautiful Flower. Painted Erzgebirge Wendt& Kuhn Charming Wooden igurine at a very good price! I purchased this in the early 1970s in the then German Democratic Republic. Or DDR, pre Berlin Wall. This area was and still is noted for its fine woodcarving traditions although these vintage figurines are getting rarer and rarer. The figure measure from 4" high and 2 3/8" wide Please see photos for details as they show clearly how delightful this is! Everything is wood on the piece. There are no flaws. The tiny bird is separate is also hand-carved and painted wood with beautiful detail and he has always resided with the angel so I think they would miss one another if separated so this is gifted to the buyer. Vintage KOHLER Made in Germany Erzgebirge Hand Carved Wood Drummer
My father was an old jazz drummer. This was his. It sat on his desk for many years. I have more memorabilia of his that I am keeping. But this one I thought someone else might appreciate as well. Its from Kohler of Germany. I find tin toys by them but no wood designs. It was sold by Erzgebirge. It a soft smooth finished wood drummer! He's in red and his feet are black as are his sunglasses! The rest is more natural wood finishes. One of his sticks broke off, but you could replace it or appreciate him as is! Measures a little less then 5" tall and the base is a little over 4" wide.
