Vintage carved wood bear This fabulously carved bear is in good condition with only a tiny chip at the base of one paw(see photo) some dust cleaning needed in nooks and crannies. The piece is not marked. But it may be from the Black Forest in Germany. This piece is carved with such detail- about 7" tall. FOR VINTAGE ITEMS VINTAGE means used and older so don't expect new or perfect for these types of items(unless noted as new. Such as with tag or in box or unused) Any major flaws will be noted in the description, but minor flaws or wear due to use and/or age should be expected for vintage items. I believe this vintage unmarked carved wood nutcracker is from Italy. Though it could be German or Swiss also. It appears there is a subtly impressed mark on the bottom(see photo) unfortunately I don’t recognize the outlines, but perhaps you do. Antique Vintage Folk Art Black Forest Carved Wood Old Man Woman Bookends Statue
Estate found.wonderful pair of early Black Forest carved bookends featuring an old man and woman. I love the expressions on their faces which are finely detailed. In very good condition with a lovely patina. There is a small toothpick sized hole at the corner of the mans mouth as if something may have been held there at one time? This is very hard to see as both sides of the mouth match perfectly and the small round hole blends in with the carved wrinkles around the mouth. Each measures approx. 8 1/4" tall x 4" x 4.5" A very charming example of old European folk art.

Here for auction is what I believe to be a vintage Black Forest wood carving. This stands approx 6" tall and is a figure of a bearded older man. It appears to be in very good condition although I really have no idea as to its age. it came from an older estate from a box full of quite old items. Nicely carved with nice colors to it. Interestingly it has a woven fabric or straw rather at the base that is then lined with an intricate blue cloth and also some gold trim. I see no makers mark anywhere. Here is a very wonderful hand carved and painted wooden diorama on some men playing cards. It is stamped Made in Italy on the back. But the stamp is too faint to photograph. This listing is for a wonderful Haufbrau Beer Barrel Horse Drawn Wagon with 4-Horses! This is a Large Wooden Carving measuring about 25" Long and 9" tall at its tallest points. The Horses are carved with detail and the driver has a whip. And Cigar! He Swivels up there on his seat. There are 11 Barrels! His side brake is there too! There are a couple of spots where the chains should be repaired! It shows in the photos where 1-beer barrel needs to be reattached. Near the 2-rear horses. The harness Chains need to be re-attached. For the most part The chains are still there. One of the rear wooden pieces to attach the chains is missing. I will let the buyer make these minor repairs. It is also a bit dusty. This wonderful vintage little Black Forest woodcarving of a“grizzly” little old hag is typical of the post-World War II German Black Forest wares that were a favored souvenir of American travelers in during the 1960s and 70s. This Old Woman puts me in mind of the scary witch character of the fairy tale. Hansel& Gretel. She has the weathered features of a long life. But a smile that hints of humor or is sinister.
