This listing is for what looks and feels like a hand carved wooden head necklace that I found at an estate sale. It doesn't feel like metal or plastic. It looks like an African person's head. If it is wood it is a very hard wood and it is either dark in color or the head has been stained dark. The head is 2 1/4" tall not including the hoop in the top of the head to hold the cord that goes around the neck. The necklace is about 29" around. Or laying flat and pulled out straight it is 14 1/2" long. The cord has a little bit of stretch to it too. It would make a great addition to any black art jewelry collection. Good luck. Vintage Federal American War Eagle Wall Shelf
As far as I could find out. This is an early Federal American War eagle wall shelf. The eagle is in perfect condition and has its original paint of antique bronze or gilt. The eagle is holding arrows in his talons. Hence the term"war" eagle.The black shelf measures10 1/2" long by 4 1/2"wide. The eagle is 4 3/4" tall and a wing span of 9 1/2" It looks like the tips of the wings were glued to the shelf but are now loose. A single nail holds the eagle to the shelf. Would love more info on this piece and hope I'm not selling it too cheaply.

VINTAGE MID-CENTURY AMERICAN BALD EAGLE WALL SHELF SYROCO? PLATE DISPLAY
This is one of the items from an extensive eagle collection which I am offering for sale with more to come. The eagle is either carved wood or more probably Syroco wood(a process developed by the Syracuse Ornamental Co) using molded wood pulp to resemble carving. There are no markings to identify it. But I believe it is probably Syroco. The shelf measures 10 1/2" X 4 1/2" and has a groove for a plate display and 2 brass eye hooks for nailing to the wall. The eagle is secured by 1 nail in the breast and the wing tips are glued. From the tail to the top of the shelf is 5 1/2" The eagle appears to be in excellent condition. The stain on the shelf could use some touch-up. Please examine the pictures closely and ask any questions. Payment by Paypal expected within 2 days. Vintage Hand Carved Folk Art American Eagle One Solid Piece Wood 12" Exquisite!
Here is an absolutely exquisite hand carved(from one solid piece of wood) American Bald Eagle. It looks purched and ready to take flight. The detail in the carving of this magnificent eagle is absolutely beautiful. From the talons gripping the base to the tips of the feathered wings. Unfortunately, there is no signature on this piece, but it was no doubt carved by a true artist. The glass eyes are embeded and look quite real, with a shade difference in color. That difference does not take away from the overall beauty. This piece stands approx. 1 foot in height with a wing span of about 8 inches. It weighs just under 2 pounds and has excellent balance and continuity. Thank You

VINTAGE AMERICAN HAND CARVED WOOD FOLK ART BIRD ~ 25 ½”
We purchased this wonderful large hand carved folk art bird about 12-15 years ago from an older gentleman who had been storing it in his garage since the 1950’s. He had owned the carving long enough he couldn’t remember where or when he originally acquired it. We do not know exactly when this item was created. It looks 19th century to us. It stands approximately 25 ½” in height. Viewed from the front it is 9 ¾” deep and is 5 ¼” across the front of the base. It weighs approximately 11 lbs. The bird is not marked as to who made it which is no surprise as older pieces seldom are. We photographed it outside in natural light and the wood is a little less red than the photos indicate. There is some discussion in our household as to whether this is a young wild turkey or perhaps a pullet or young female chicken. We are inclined to ... morethink the latter due to the comb. The bird is carved entirely from a single piece of wood the variety of which we’ve been unable to ascertain. It doesn’t appear to be pine. It may be some kind of oak; however. We’re just not sure what kind of wood it is. The bird is in overall good original condition for a hand carved wooden piece with age. It is not perfect. We think that it was originally stained or varnished. There is no evidence that it was ever colored or painted. There is chipping to the bottom of the base at the foot. However. Since the piece is chip carved, it is difficult to say if this occurred during the carving or at a later date. There is a dehydration crack on one side of the base. This is to be expected in any older carved wooden piece. It is caused by the wood shrinking across the grain over time and is something you look for as a sign of age. It becomes part of the item’s bona fides. There is also what appears to be a chip to the middle toe nail on the forward foot of the bird. We say appears because it may have occurred as part of the original carving process. The above items are to be expected and not debilitating as the carving displays very well. It is a ver

Vintage carved wooden cigar Indian bottle safe wine holder Native American
Vintage carved wooden Indian bottle or wine safe. It measures approximately 17 inches tall by 6 inches wide and 5 inches deep. Overall very nice condition for age. The colors are bright with minimal paint chipping. The back of the headdress has some wood missing. There is slight irregularity on the base where the insides meet, and the original hinges are missing and will need to be replaced if desired. Please see photos for more information. Rarest Duck's Head Decoy Glass Eye Vintage American Umbrella By Just Richard
Rarest rare 32" carved wooden vintage duck head umbrella by American Umbrella by Just Richard New York. Looks like glass eyes. But could be Bakelite or plastic. Has expected wear on the handle with some marks and scuffs, but the awesome duck still looks great and is solid. The umbrella functions fine and the material is in great shape with no tears or rips. See photos! Only slight wear where some stitching is, upon close inspection, a little loose- not a big deal but I am saying this is in excellent condition still, but vintage, not new. The outside of the umbrella shows dust and could use cleaning- it may appear to be be faded. And is somewhat, but it is also dusty in the spots where it settled on the exposed material when the umbrella was stored closed in an umbrella stand. This fine figure is a bit of an enigma to me and I would greatly appreciate the help of more knowledgeable Ebayers in pinning down the possible tribal origins of this piece. Originally bought at auction in San Francisco from the estate of a well known California collector of primitive art. Name will be supplied to purchased. If sold for provenance purposes. His notes, attached to the figure when I bought it state" Central America Native Carved Wood Janus Figure(Two Faced) A Good Example of Native Carving' Measures 14" 36 cm in height. In fine condition. Silky smooth patina and great contrast colouring of carved areas in high relief. Appears to be a two faced'Janus' figure. Janus figure' is a common label for figures which have two faces. Reminding some of the two headed Roman deity Janus. It measures 7 inches high x 3 inches wide x 1.5 inches deep The wood in dark(maybe with a stain? and it feels very smooth to the touch. Detailed hair and facial expression. This is a larger size eagle and perfect inside a home or mounted on the exterior. DIMENSIONS: 35" L x 11" H x 5" T WEIGHT 3 pounds Presented is a Nantucketer style eagle. One of the rarest styles made by Artistic Carving Co. It is so scarce that there was not an example of it at the celebration of the work of John Halley Bellamy and his followers at the Portsmouth Marine Society in 2014. It's larger size makes it ideal for a family room or den or even over a doorway. The detailing and a wonderful gold polychrome finish and suburb condition ... moremakes it show beautifully. Because of the high prices of America's premier carver. John Bellamy, the carvings of the Artistic Carving Company of Boston, MA have become a less costly alternative. The company operated from the 1850's to the last quarter of the 1950's. There is a steady demand for their work and the prices though much less than for a Bellamy, are still considerable. Recreations made by the Artistic Carving Company of Boston have been selling well over the years. In 2014 their prices fetched from $2000 to $7000 at auction.
