It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

Up for auction is a one of a kind wood carving depicting a bizarre hybrid creature. The creature appears to consist of a dog with the wings of a bird and the tail of a lion( This wood carving was part of a fireplace in a house in New Orleans that was demolished and had to be reassembled as it was acquired in pieces. The base is a different type of wood from the creature because it was attached after the creature was reassembled. The base is approx. 10 1/2 inches x 4 inches. Antique Victorian Wood Towel Bar Old estate find. This is a nice antique piece. I believe it is a towel bar, and was told that it is Victorian. It has nice decorative cut out pieces on the side and on the serpentine backsplash is a carved head of a woman. Very nice. There are some items to be aware of- the bottom dowel is missing, it could be replaced or left as is. The little finials are missing from the right side. there are two on the left so one could be moved to provide a match on each side and then find two others for the bottom spots. Also the floral carved wood board that goes across the back is missing a narrow piece of wood about halfway across. Still a great display piece and a nice antique collectible. Gorgeous pair of Victorian Black Forest hand carved wood candlesticks signed"br nr or nt" they date to circa 1860-1880(definitely prior to 1900) See the scans for details. They were originally made in Brienz Switzerland from the Interlaken region. That is probably what the"br" stands for(Brienz) The"nr or nt" probably stands for the carver's initials. Both candlesticks are clearly signed twice each on the base. Each candlestick has two game birds for hunting(pheasant. Quail, or partridge) standing under ornately carved oak trees with excellent acorn clusters& oak leaves. Both pieces are highly detailed& the ornate carving extends all the way around each one. It is rare to find examples so nicely carved even on the reverse! The wood has a gorgeous original ... morepatina& the carvings are just absolutely exquisite& of the highest quality! Antique pair of carved oak jesters/ troubador musicians. Made in France/ Italy. Late 19th century. Approx 14 1/4 inches tall(37cm) Absolutely charming: One figure plays a mandolin; the other a flute. Each figure stands on a very simple. Rectangular oak wood block. Wearing standard uniform of a jester or harlequin, complete with bells and buttons and lots of pleats. Collars like sunflowers. Wonderfully detailed caricature faces. The mandolin player with a huge open mouthed smile, stares into the distance; the flautist with exquisite gentle expression on his smiling face and soft eyes. Quality of carving very good. Wood has great, old patina and warm glow after more than 100 years. Condition: the mandolin has the edge of it's handle missing; the tips of the fingers of the flautist are missing. As is the'horn' and bell on one side ... moreof his cap. Offering a Victorian era carved bear umbrella stand made if the famous factory of Brienz. The bear does have some issues as seen from photos. There is a crack on the face and eye was replaced. There are several age cracks around on the bear that have been there for many years but the overall condition is stable and still is a very attractive piece! Most all of the bears of this period has age cracks due to shrinkage of the wood over the years. Study photos carefully. Bear is heavy and I am paying for shipping, at ups. Vintage Carved Walking Stick, Victorian Era, Walnut Park, Relief Carved Leaves
Offered for your consideration is this wonderful carved wood walking stick. Most of it is carved in high relief with leaves and vines. It is in excellent condition with no breaks. It has a wonderful patina that I will not attempt to clean. There is only one very small chip that measures about 1/8" by 1/8" on one of the leaves. Near the handle is a large leaf that reads. Walnut Park" and a"M. T. These are probably the maker's initials and I am not sure which Walnut Park they are talking about, but you collector's might know more. On the handle is some Eastlake type carving. The lady that I bought this from thought it dated to the 1880's or 1890's. It is 35 5/8" long and weighs 7.4 oz. This would make a great addition to your walking stick. Or cane collectibles. Offered at no reserve.

Isn't this one fabulous! Nice larger size at 19.5" tall and 13.5" wide, also carved from heavy, solid European oak and the condition leaves little to be desired! An oak face with enamel ... moreplaques marking the various stations of the barometer. The entire face is hinged and opens upward to the wooden box backing. The barometer is actually fixed to the face so only adjustments would be made from the rear. The long brass hand has been at nearly the same position since we photographed it so I'm not sure if the barometer is in working order but the needle does move.
