Here is a hand carved wood very detailed eagle. When I purchased this at a tag sale recently everyone was passing it up. When I picked it up the woman behind the table said it was from Germany and in the bag with the eagle is a piece of paper which reads(Circa 1940. Hand- crafted Valuable) The piece is signed MB or it could be a MR. Eagle is very detailed and very nicely painted with perfect detail. On the top of the eagles head is a fine crack in the paint which is probably from age. On the eagles wing tip 2 and 4 have the top chipped off. Then there is 2 very small places that the paint has come off and it blends in with all the other brown on the eagle. Leaves Initially. Bipinnately compound leaves with 12–24 pairs of leaflets grow on the koa plant, much like other members of the pea family. The vertically flattened orientation of the phyllodes allows sunlight to pass to lower levels of the tree. Pair of Hand Carved Folk Art Leprechaun Figurines Signed "DAD"
Here's a fun pair of hand carved leprechauns! The taller one is about 6" high& the other is just shy of 5 1/2. They're signed on the bottom but it's hard to make out all the words. But. Both say"Dad" not sure if Dad carved them or not! Now. These do have a few dings and pings as I think you can see in the pictures. There's something of a gouge that shouldn't be there on the tall boy's jacket& it looks like someone tried to hide it with a marker. Also, the stump that shorty's sitting on has a chunk out. Quantity: 1 hand carved folk art cat Maker: We are unsure of the origins of the piece but believe that it might be Canadian or American. We acquired it in Montreal quite a ... morefew years ago; it is signed on the base with a purple ink stamp that shows medallion with ribbon and a banner with the artists name but it is a bit smudged, the first name may be Darran or something of that sort, the last three letters appear to be RAN and the last name looks like Kall but again that may also be Wall or Hall as the first letter is uncertain. We have tried many hours to find who this might be but with no luck, if anyone has more information we would love to hear from them. Age: we would date this piece to the late 1800’s– early 1900’s. It does appear to have good age and patina, the wood appears to be raw and never stained or varnished Size: measures 16 inches from heat to tail and over 10 inches high at the cat’s hind legs Condition: In overall wonderful condition with no major damage that we can note. There are some cracks to the wood from drying with age, there are some cracks around the legs, they go through on the back legs but don’t appear to on the front legs; one ear has some fretting and also the end of the tail; there is a piece of wood missing from the toe on one of the back feet; lovely patina and feel to the wood. Folk Art Carved Head - Spanish Cedar - smoking a pipe - signed / dated
Large freestanding heavy solid wood folk art carved head of man smoking a pipe. Stands just over 17in.tall X aprx 7in.wide X 12in.deep It is signed and dated on the bottom. 5/73.I can't make out the cursive signature of the creator. Rick something.perhaps. Beautifully hand crafted solid heavy carving with nicely textured and detailed hair. Beard and facial expression. It is covered by a shellac of some sort that darkens the wood slightly and gives it a sheen. I was puzzled over the type of wood this was carved from until I smelled the unmistakable fragrance of Spanish Cedar from the unfinished bottom of the piece. A shallow. The bird is 9" long from tip of the beak to the end of it's tail. The bird stands 3.25" high from the bottom to its highest point(top of it's head) The duck is 3" wide at it's widest point.
