This auction is for a rare R.J. Stum hand carved folk art horse. This horse was purchased from a New England auction house several years ago and cam from the collection of actress Penny Marshall. An avid folk art collector. This wonderful horse has a great stylized head, face and body. He has a very grumpy look to him and is extremely well proportioned and carved. This carving measures 6 1/2" tall x 6 1/4" wide and is in very good condition. It does have some crazing to the paint and some light paint loss to the end of the tail. This is a HAND CARVED hand painted SOLID WOOD SCULPTURED ROCKING ELEPHANT. It is approximately 10 7/8 inches long. And 7 1/4 inches tall. It is in good condition with an ornate design and is marked with signature and date of 1959. Looks like an exotic wood.
