This large pair of marsh birds are just beautiful! Each are hand-carved and hand-painted and were bought at an estate sale some years ago. The bid is for both birds. The one with its head up measures 15" tall and the one with head down measures 11 1/2" Both are in good condition but please see all pics prior to bidding. Vintage Retro Pair of Carved Wood Figures ~"Souvenirs of Germany" ~ 8" Axe Man For your consideration are this two delightful wood carved characters. I recently rediscovered them at an Estate Sale. Seems like everything in the house was German made. Or connected to Germany. I grabbed this pair! Made in the ANRI. Or Black Forest style, these handcarved, handpainted, wood figures are marked"Souvenir of Germany" The mark is on the front of the base and has greatly faded on both pieces. See photos. My best guess is that these pieces are from the late 1960's to the late 1970's. Both figures are in excellent collector condition. The male figure looks like a Bavarian Axeman. With a green Bavarian hat, and axe on his shoulder, and a hand in his pocket. He measures approximately 8" tall. The female figure appears ... moreto be a hard-working folk woman. She has a detailed basket, loaded with wood on her back. A babushka covers her head. Outstanding! She stands just under 8" tall. No chips, cracks, or repairs. I'm not sure if the photos exhibit some of the color on these carvings. Although faded, the man has a green hat, and jacket(especially the back) Darker brown trousers, and black shoes and axe blade. Pair of Vintage Carved Wood Praying Monks Standing & Kneeling
I have up for auction a Lot of 2 Vintage carved from wood Praying Monks. One is standing and the other is kneeling. The standing one is around 12 inches tall and the kneeling one is around 10 inches tall. I picked these up from an estate sale awhile ago and planned on displaying them up but just never got around to finding a spot for them. So my loss will be your gain. You can not really tell from the pictures but they have very detailed carved faces with beards and also carved rosaries and crosses. I do not know the history and/or origins of them so these items will be sold As Is. All sales will be Final. WOODEN CARVED PIGS BOOKENDS? AWESOME PAIR NICE WOOD VINTAGE
This wonderful pair of Wooden Pigs are made of a beautiful hard wood. I am not sure if they are book ends or not. They have flat backs but not bottoms so they don't stand flat. They are round and have chubby bellies. SOOOO CUTE! They stand about 8.5 inches tall and have a base of approx 6 inches. They weigh nearly 2 lbs each. I have no information of age. Origin, or exact wood. They are from an Estate and I would guess them to be quite old. They have a tiny bit of nicks here and there but have NO serious faults, defects, or problems. I do believe they are hand carved, and they are not perfectly the same. They would love for you to take them home.
