Being offered for sale is this Spectacular Victorian Walnut Fretwork Baby Cradle with Gorgeous Carved Hearts& Scrolls circa 1880's. This is positively one of the loveliest Victorian cradles I have had the pleasure of obtaining. Beautiful craftsmanship of a by gone era full of elegance and splendor and in excellent antique condition. This cradle measures 38 1/4 inches in height from the floor to the top of the finials on the cradle supports. Height from the floor to the top of the rounded ends of the actual cradle measures 32 1/2 inches,height from the floor to the top of the sides of the cradle measures 24 1/2 inches. The total length of the cradle measures 41 inches,total width is 19 1/2 inches and this cradle weighs approximately 35 lbs. The inside of the cradle measures 36 inches long by 15 1/2 inches wide and the height from the ... moreslats on the inside bottom to the top of the side rails measures 10 inches. What a splendid piece to display that antique doll collection or for that special newborn.that can be passed down for generations to come. This lovely 19th century bedroom set features gorgeous incised carvings of potted flowers.Incised carvings of geometric designs and beautiful applied carvings of scrolls and shells on the head-board and foot-board. The Bed: The bed measures 62 1/2 inches in height at the head-board.39 1/2 inches in height to the top of the foot-board, with the outside with of the bed being 61 3/4 inches and outside length measuring 81 inches and this bed weighs approximately 200 lbs total. The inside mattress area measures 57 1/2 inches wide by 74 3/4 inches long and should fit a full size mattress set nicely, but one should always measure their own mattress set to assure proper fit. The height from the floor to the top of the sides rails ... moreat the enter measures 14 3/4 inches.The bed sets up solid and tight and very sturdy. The right side of the foot-board does have a slight age shrinkage crack about 6 inches long near the bottom right side.nothing major but worth mentioning. The wood is deeply reed ed and chun ky and very decorative. The C iel de L it is just as I found it. Still with it's original fabric which. As you can see, is now very distressed with the passage of time. I have left it in place as I thought it may give the potential buyer an idea of what it would have looked like, in case they wa nted to reproduce it. All the wood has been treated for wo o dworm as there are holes. I would like to stre ss that the frame is good and solid and it is not riddled with wo odworm or going to fall apart. Being offered for sale is this Monumental American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Dresser/ vanity with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a huge beautiful 19th century dresser that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with the original glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled dressing mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire dresser measures 73 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height to the sides from the floor measures 45 inches, height from the floor to the drop center portion measures 17 1/4 inches, total width of the dresser is 69 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs ... moreapproximately 200 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 41 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches wide. This dresser does disassemble into 7 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. Here is a really cool French 19th century Breton solid oak table with a slightly oval top with gadrooned carved edge over an inset apron and mounted on a superbly carved scroll leg quadrupled base. The base has various fruits and lots of acanthus leaves and C scrolls of the period which may be as early as 1860. Width = 45" Length = 41" closed) Length = 83 1/2" open) there are no leaves. However, leaves could be easily made) Height = 28 1/2" When pulled open. There are four solid turned legs which drop down to support the table ends. When the table is closed, these legs are just tucked up underneath the table along with the slide mechanism. The locking mechanism which holds the two sides o the table together is marked"BREVETE" and there is a mark of what looks like 2 crossed keys and two initials possibly VF in ... morethe center of the crossed"keys" This table is in overall good condition. Antique and vintage items by their very nature show normal wear to finish and miscellaneous scratches. Nicks, and dings due to age and use. Fine American Empire Crotch Mahogany Chest wMirror Carved Paw Feet c1880's
Being offered for sale is this American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Chest with Mirror with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a large beautiful 19th century chest that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with period glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire chest measures 71 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height from the floor to the front portion measures 42 1/2 inches, total width of the dresser is 43 1/2 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs approximately 160 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 23 1/2 inches high by ... more23 1/2 inches wide. This chest does disassemble into 3 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. The left mirror support does present with an old repair that seems solid and tight, the right plumage above the foot shows some chipping and there is an area of missing veneer on the left side edge at the top and a cluster of scratches on the left side panel this is typical of these Empire pieces and doesn't affect the integrity of the piece by no means, just a part of the time worn characteristics these old pieces have endured over the past 100 years or so. Being offered for sale is this superb English Victorian Pollard Oak Fancy Carved Side Cabinet/ Nightstand circa 1880. This splendid 19th century cabinet is an excellent size allowing it to be used in most any room of your home. This cabinet is executed in the rare and highly sought after Pollard oak. Pollard oak is a cultivated variety of oak grown in sections of Europe for its particular figure of grain. The small limbs of this tree are cut into rounded heads close to the tree and as the tree grows larger the stunted heads are included in the wood growth. Then when the tree is harvested for lumber these heads produce burl or knots which form very unusual grain figures in the wood which are highly sought after by high end furniture makers. This process is a slow one in which it takes many. Many generations for a tree to develop the the beautiful ... moregrain as seen in this cabinet in the pictures. This beautiful cabinet measures 30 inches in height.18 inches wide and 14 1/2 inches deep and weighs approximately 40 lbs. This splendid 19th century dining table features a solid walnut top. Conforming table apron, substantial tapered fluted blocked legs with a fine carved curved stretcher on both ends, fluted tapered blocked center legs with the original casters intact on all the legs. This dining table extends to 10 ft inch 1 long and would accommodate many more leaves but only 3 original leaves come with the table. This dining table opens and closes with ease and is solid and tight. The table measures 29 3/4 inches in height. With a skirt height to the floor of 26 inches, and measures 46 inches wide by 51 3/4 inches long without any leaves in place. This table weighs approximately 110 ... morelbs alone and the additional 3 leaves weigh approximately 15 lbs total. This is the second of two beautifully carved antique Black Forest eagle items removed from the same home. In addition to displaying well. This is a very useful clock or vase bracket, which was still in daily use over 100 years after being made! This bracket measures 21 inches in height and the glass eyed eagle has a wingspan of 20 inches. The platform is 17 inches wide and 8 inches in depth. So can support a large bracket clock. Solid 15 carat gold(tests thereabouts) pendant; beautifully made, with blue vitreous enamel highlights surrounding a wonderful natural shell cameo, very prettily hand carved to depict a classical bacchante, with grapes and vine leaves in her hair, and a currently empty glass locket to the back- easily accessed. An extremely attractive. Wonderfully wearable cameo pendant! CONDITION: Very good. Probably originally a pin- old repair visible to back& bail an old replacement/ addition- see pics. These 19th century dining chairs are positively beautiful and feature splendid carved details! Each chair also features new fabric covering on the seats of a fancy leaf pattern fabric much like the carvings on the chairs with a hint of very light green. Each chair measures a total height of 40 1/2 inches. Seat width of 18 inches, seat depth of 16 inches and seat height to the floor measures 17 1/2 inches and each chair weighs approximately 12 lbs. These chairs are solid and tight and in excellent antique condition with no breaks or repairs we can find. Antique Black Forest Carved Swiss Hunt Table Marquetry Stag Chamois Fallow Deer Brienz Antique Black Forest Carved Swiss Hunt Table Marquetry Stag Chamois Fallow Deer Brienz This auction is for this beautiful and very rare hunt table with eight hunting motifs on the periphery and one large hunting motif in the center. I bought this in Brienz. Switzerland in an antique store and it is circa 1880. Jobin in Brienz. Has a comparable table but is smaller and they are asking $35,000 for it. This table is heavily inlaid with different shades of walnut and walnut burl. The center shows a mountain climber robbing an eagles nest and being attacked by the mother eagle. The wooden inlay is such incredible craftsmanship that is unfortunately not produced anymore. The legs of the table consist of one solid center part that is carved from walnut and decorated ... morewith acanthus leaves which is the typical decor of table legs in Switzerland of that period. Three curved legs originate from the center part and are beautifully decorated with large carved Edelweiss in very high relief. The table was totally refurbished and newly waxed for its protection. Due to the age of this table there is some unevenness and some wear but this is typical for a piece of this age. It's still in excellent condition. We are also showing a similar example in an antique Binder catalog. The top diameter is 34.5" and it stands 30" high.
