This high quality dresser has early dove-tailed construction on the dresser base top up under the marble and also on the drawer ends; and an old label with an original owners name handwritten with Chicora, SC written below on the base up under the marble. This dresser has a grand, majestic presence with incredible carvings and details; and amazingly left in its original state.you can almost feel the history in this piece when you touch it.incredible! Description Wonderful antique bone( cattle- Bovine species) small sewing needle case. Which has been deeply carved with birds and butterflies, and so typical of Cantonese export carving of the early 19th century. An identical example of this type of barrel can be seen in Nerylla Taunton's book Antique Needlework Tools and Embroideries. On page 84(plate no 87) AGE The needle case dates to the middle of the 19th century. Circa 1860's. SIZE The needle case measures 4.8cm(¾" high and 1cm(¼" in diameter. Description Antique early Victorian seam knife. Which has been produced from steel, with ornately carved mother of pearl panels to the handle. The tool would have been used in for needlework, to unstitch seams and to make small holes in work(button holes etc) although it may also have been used to sharpen writing quills(like many other needle works tools, which have duel purposes! AGE The seam tool would date to the middle of the 19th century. Circa 1860, and was found in a Victorian sewing box, along with other antique needlework tools. SIZE The tool measures 7cm(2¾" long when closed and 1.2cm(½" wide. CONDITION The tool is in a very good condition for considerable age. Please refer to the above photographs for details of condition. The stool I think is made of walnut that has nice grain and colour and has nicely carved feet as seen in the photos, the stool has a pink silky type material which I think is a later replacement and could do with a light clean, the stool measures 12 inches diameter and 6 inches high, there is general minor wear and tear with age with a couple of small knocks and some wear to the braid on the edge of the material

This fine Victorian carved wooden wall bracket/shelf I think dates from between 1860 and 1880. The bracket is made from finely carved wood in the form of a winged cherub holding up the shelf as seen in the photos and has nice colour and patina with age, the figure has been really well carved with great detail and oozes quality, the bracket measures 12 inches high and 10 inches wide, ther has been a glue repair to one of the arms as seen, the wings are slightly loose as they are fixed with pins and a few minor knocks with age and use over the years

This fine pair of Victorian fireside bellows I think date from between 1860 and 1880. The bellows are made of oak with carved designs of a rose in the centre and ornate carved designs on the handle, the bellows have nice colour and patina with age as seen, there is a brass spout and leather bellows although there is a couple of holes in this that would need to be repaired for use, otherwise these bellows could be an ornamental addition to a fireplace, the bellows measure 20 inches long and 6.5 inches wide and apart from the leather in very good condition

Which form an integral part of the item's description) This subject is rare because the depiction of Hebe is unusual and the depth& quality of the carving is simply sublime. Indeed the carving is more than perfect in every detail and the delicacy of this piece is truly amazing. In the Cameo Hebe wears an ethereal dress with each fold captured by the skill of the carver; similarly if we look at the eagle. Every feather is carved wonderfully and the way that Hebe's head nestles under the deeply carved Eagle's wing creating a'3D' effect is masterful. I found it very difficult to photograph these and bring out the lovely lustre of Mother of Pearl and the details of the carving/ engraving. They are beautifully made of Mother of Pearl and beautifully decorated with one flower on one side and two flowers on the other. Each measures approximately: Circular; 3.1 cm. diameter. Oval; 3.7 cm. by 2.3 cm. Lozenge shape; 5.4 cm. by 1.7 cm. They are in quite good condition for their age and only require a delicate clean. For your consideration a beautiful and ornately possible water buffalo carved bone Japanese tanto complete with what's looks to be a hand made blade.The ornate carved panels reflect village life scene's with the inhabitants going about their day to day life.The blade has stains and a couple of minor edge chips no other faults that can be seen.The blade is a push fit into the tsuka and I cannot remove it without damage and as such I cannot tell if it is signed.Normally these style of tanto's were not signed and were normally made for the English tourist market of the Victorian Era.
