Vintage Dala horse figure and pin These are a great set. One to wear and one to display. The figure measures 4 inches tall. And about 3 3/4 inches head to tail. The pin measures 3/4 of an inch long. And 7/8 of an inch tall. They are both in good condition with no missing paint or chips. The pin on the little one is tilted upwards a bit but still functions as it should. CHARMING VINTAGE HAND-CARVED, HAND-PAINTED FOLK ART WOODEN HORSE FIGURE FIGURINE
T his is a charming. Vintage. Hand-carved and painted horse figur ine that has been in my family for some years. It has a definite fol k-art feel to it. And it is in excellent condition with no chips, splits, cracks or repairs that I can see. It measures approximately 5-1/2" long by 5-7/8" tall. And because the wood is very light weight I am as suming it is carved from pine. But I cannot be certain of that f act. It appears somewhat lighter in the photos than it is in real life- in person it is more of a medium brown tone and the red and green colors are more mu ted than they appear in the pictures. This would be a darling addition to anyone's folk art or horse collection. I've even had it on my Christmas tree! Antique carved wood American Art Architectural Salvage Figure, Man, Furniture
A nice piece of architectural salvage carved out of wood ~ figure of a man. A duke, a musketeer? It probably came off of a mantel or large piece of furniture. He is old and somewhat fragile. There has been some repair work on his neck where he has cracked up the sides. There is a small brad in his neck and on the top where a piece was loose. The base has some cracks in it and a few loose pieces which may need gluing. There is a hole in the back of his head where he was mounted at one time. He is still an amazing piece of history and you will love him! Check out photos for further idea on condition and detail. Vintage Carved Folk Art Moses Wood Christian 17" Statue Figure Large Detailed
I am not sure of the origin of this figure. I picked him up at an auction. He does not have any manufactures marks. He stands 17" tall. Appears to be hand carved. I know absolutely ZIP about art and woodworking. He does have some chips in his wood. A little touchup paint and you would never know. Please inspect the pictures closely. The wood is of a lightweight source but not cheap or overly delicate to handle. It does have some small holes in it. This was put into a platic bag. In my deep freezer for a week! There were no signs of any beetles. I am assuming he is supposed to be a priest, medicine man or elder. Very neat figure whatever he is.
