Large Antique Late 19thC German Black Forest Carved Wooden Bear Statue
Up for bids is this Large Antique Late 19thC German Black Forest Carved Wooden Bear Statue. This Black Forest bear was carved in Germany during the late 19thC. The bear is finely carved from wood and has a polychrome painted mouth with glass eyes. The bear is standing upright and is growling with his paws up. This piece would originally have been on a piece of furniture such as a hall tree but the dowel could be removed and it should be attached to a base because it does not stand freely. This piece stands 10 3/4" in height. 4 3/4" in width, and is 5 3/4" in depth. This piece is in great condition with just a small piece missing to one of the bears paws.
