VINTAGE HAMILTON WOODEN PRINTER'S TYPE DRAWER TRAY This is a neat old printer's type drawer. It has multi-shaped compartments. I have included a photo of a manufacturer's mark that is stamped in the tray. It is The Hamilton Mfg Co Two Rivers. Wis. Also stamped in the tray is New Departure Patented. The tray has a steel handle stamped HAMILTON and a cutout slot that identifies what font of type the drawer held. The drawer is very nice condition with a wood back. I have not done any cleaning on the drawer. I am listing three of these identical drawers. They are all in similar condition. This auction is for a small type tray with 35 small spaces. It measures about 11" x 16 1/2" and it has small brass reinforcments where the dividers cross. It is not marked at all and it needs a cleaning. But it is solid and strong with no breaks or repairs. Low minimum bid, no reserve!

This auction is for a vintage wooden printer's box. The box is approximately 16” tall by 13” wide. And has 42 compartments of varying sizes. It was made by T.S. Arthur& Son of Philadelphia for a publication called“The Children's Hour. A maker's mark on the typeset drawer seems to imply that it was produced in 1873. This small tag on the front has begun to fade, but I believe it reads as follows: The best magazine for children in the world– S.S. Times THE CHILDREN'S HOUR An illustrated magazine. Edited by T.S. Up for sale: Lot of 4 1907 Hamilton printers cases. These are some of the older cases on Ebay. We have several from the same unit and the bottom case handle is embossed with the date of 1907. This was back in the day of Teddy Roosevelt. When only 8% of population had phones, few had electricity, and few had cars. Average wage was 22 cents per hour and 95% of births were at home. The type used in these cases were just about the only way to communicate. Quite a different era. If these cases could only talk. We talk for them as they do make a good conversation piece. These cases are now being used for quite a variety of clever uses. All types of collections. Fly fishing flies, ammunition, thimbles, marbles, etc. One fellow we met placed a piece of glass on them and created beautiful coffee tables. Luckily this one survived for 100 years waiting ... morefor someone to put to good use. These cases measures 21-3/4 wide x 16-1/2 inches deep(19-1/2 counting the extensions) and are just over an inch thick. Please see photos for condition. It also has a Hamilton handle which has some wear. The top where the handle is located has been painted. There are various stickers and markings on each drawer as shown in posted photos. The name Dahlen has been written on the small side of each drawer. The drawer is in very good used condition. Having been used in a printing shop, with some wear commensurate with age as shown in the photos. There is writing on some of the drawers and age and use related bumping. WoodenVintage Printers Drawers Compartments Type Set Tray Shadow Box. I am not very familiar with these items. I can see no identifiying marks to tell me who exactly made them or how old they are. I got them from an estate auction. It measures approximately just under 32 1/4" long and a little over 16.5" wide compartments are 3/4" deep and tray itself measures about 1 3/4 inches deep. These appear to have age. The board on the bottom does appear to be a kind of plyboard. It has water damage one one end and some cracking. This probably needs the most work. There is writing of letters on the inner compartments. I think in ink. Does have a steel handle. Looks like the fron t has black paint and some specks of paint on some of the compartments. Awesome vintage antique printer's drawer. Can be used as a shadow box. Has 98 cubby holes of different sizes. The handle is off but there(I bought it that way and never used it) but one screw is missing. This box is 17 x 23 inches. Made of wood. Has 2 metal frame slots. One on front and one on side. Front one has a label in it, says"18 Tempo Heavy" The back has some wood chipping. There are marks and scrapes here and there and some paint on it. Top was painted gray with handle. Item for sale is a vintage Hamilton wooden drawer with sheet metal face and sliders. It is well constructed and not flimsy I believe to be made in the early 1900s. This would be ideal for a Project. Shadow box, curio box, memory box or matchbox cars. Dimensions are 16 1/2L x 32W x 1 1/2D. Weighs about 6lbs. Has 89 compartments. Item is used in good condition with some signs of age and are a little dusty. May have some misc writing on the dividers. Item was acquired from a printing shop.
