Offered for auction with a low starting bid and NO RESERVE. Is this wonderful Antique family Holy Bible dated 1873. Published by the American Publishing Company. It measures roughly 13" x 10" x 4" and weighs more than 13 pounds. Unfortunately, this bible is in need of restoration and for that reason, you are buying this as-is and returns will not be accepted on this item. Look carefully at my photos and feel free to ask me any questions. The binding of the book is a wonderful heavily embossed leather with gold embellishment. There are two brass or gold tone metal clasps. Both the front and back end boards have separated completely from the spine. The first several pages of the bible are worn and damaged with foxing and watermarks. Most of the interior pages are actually in good condition with some foxing and yellowing but not ... morebad. This bible contains hundreds of illustrations plus a dictionary, and interesting facts about the history and culture of the people and places mentioned in the Bible. It also has a few pages for family photographs(there are none unfortunately) and a page for recording Marriage. That was never filled out either. This bible is a fine example of a 19th century family heirloom and worthy of restoration or taken apart and used for parts. Good luck bidding!

Hand written New Testament Bible This was a massive undertaking for someone. We estimate the age to be somewhere between 1820 and 1840. No idea who the writer was. Found in an old Maine estate. Leather bound. Boards are warped, you can find toning and staining.there is some black sand remaining on some pages left behind from the ink drying process. Binding seems to be solid. No missing pages. Text is quite readable. We believe this was perhaps written by a minister with ample room on each page for personal notations. All but one page is written on. Up for auction is a 1966 Holy Bible ~Light of the World Protestant Edition. It is illustrated, has maps in the back and a index in the back, this bible has at least over 500 pages maybe more, the numbers stopped when it hit the index. There is no writing and the bibles cover is perfect except for where it over laps the pages it is rounded over a little just from sitting in the box for years, the binding is tight and the pictures are bright and colorful. The writing on the front of the box is almost indented into the wood you can feel the letters and cross when you run you hand across it. All hinges are in great working condition. I believe the wood case is cedar.
