Antique Vintage Primitive Wooden Fishing Tackle Box with Removable Tray
This antique tackle box I got from an old fella in the wet lands of eastern North Carolina. It measures 14' long- 8" deep and 6" high. He told me it was his fathers and appears to be hand made out of pine. Can't tell you much more about it. It has a steel handle and a simple latch in the front. This also came with a antique clam rake and filet knife which I will also be listing. I have given you tons of pics to make up your own mind about it but I believe it to be a great fishing folk art piece since it has no name attached to it- hand made. The tray was given to him when the printing works moved over to phototypesetting in the early 70's The boxes have been mostly lined with red felt. I am selling because of a house move. VINTAGE WOODEN LETTERPRESS TYPE CASE/ PRINTERS DRAWER Antique wooden type case originally used to store printers letterpress type. Measures approximately 82.5cm x 36cm x 3.5cm deep(32.5" x 14" x 1.5" The tray is divided into three sections. Each having various sized compartments. There are 95 compartments in total with brass detailing at each compartment intersection(see photos) Even the original paper lining in the compartments is still in tact. It also has the original metal handle and label holder. I have polished it up to give the wood a nice all over finish. I t is extremely sturdy and well made with no sign of damages or cracks. This is a beautiful pair of vintage wooden trays with china or porcelain inserts. The wood having been hand-crafted in the Amana Colonies. Each tray measures 12 1/4 inches in diameter, and the edges are curved upward as you may be able to see in the photos. We listed them as signed, because each tray has a sticker on the back that says"THE AMANA COLONIES, NORMAN H. SCHANZ, WEST AMANA, IOWA. The tray with the apples design has a hairline crack in the china or porcelain insert, as you can see in the closeup photo; and there may be a way to repair or camouflage this, but I will leave that up to the buyer. However, when the tray is covered with whatever you might be serving, this would not be noticeable. Each tray has a hole in the back so that they can be hung on the wall. very old distressed wooden tray has seen a lot of life. The bottom as you can see in photo has faired quite well with minor marks. There are a couple of minor nicks to edge of tray. Really good and sturdy wooden tray with a lovely design cut out of the sloping sides and cut outs for carrying at each end.Made of multiple pieces of wood. The base is slatted so the whole tray will not carry spills. They will go through the gaps, and it has a runner across either end so that the middle stands off from the table etc. I don't know my woods so cannot say which it is but the whole thing is very neat and tidily made. 14" long x13" wide and 3" deep. Each piece of wood is approx 3/8" thick I always try to keep postage to the minimum and am happy to combine postage and packing on multiple purchases so why not check out my other items for sale. You are bidding on a Vintage Brazilian Blue Morpho Butterfly Wing Wood Wooden Tray. It is probably from the 1930's or 40's but I am not sure. It measures about 20 1/2" long and almost 13 1/2" tall. There is some slight deterioration to a couple of the butterflies but nothing that is noticable. The glass is in very good condition and the back has some scratches on it. It has a hanger which I believe to be original and it has a tag which apprears to be original to the piece. Overall the tray is in very good condition. Original unpainted wood Printers Tray. Item No. 2) This has been used for Ink Stamp(Stampin' UP! storage but can be used for anything.
