It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

It has very intricate, detailed carvings of villagers in a mountain valley in ancient East Asia. It has some writing and may have an artist's signature on the table top. I think the writing is in a Chinese or Japanese language, but I'm no expert on these things. I am not sure of the material this is made of. It looks like wood but it's more dense and heavier than any normal wood. The lacquered parts on the top of the table are very smooth. I took a lot of pictures to try to show all of the many details but I'm afraid they won't do this justice! The two parts together weigh about 26 lbs together. This auction is for a nice vintage set of a Nest Of Three(3) Tables from England. We see lot's& lots of nest of tables coming over rom exporters these days. Most are not worth looking at. These were an exception. This nest of tables are very well made and have excellent"eye appeal" The dark mahogany tops are carved all the way around the tops. All of the"knees" on all of the table have wonderful detailed carving on them. Each apron, under each table top has a pretty"wavy cut" to them. Each top has a pretty mahogany veneer on them with each table having a glass protector. They are all tight and sturdy. The finish is still good on all three tables. There are no repairs found on any of the tables. They are quite nice and ready to set out and use. I love a nest that is displayed with a slight stagger, showing ... moreoff all three tops& the carved legs. They can be used as seperate tables if you wish. The nest"stacked" is 22 3/4" X 17" and about 21 5/8" tall. The middle table is about 18 1/4" X 14 1/4" and about 20 3/8" tall. The smallest table is 14 1/4" X 12 3/4" and about 19 1/4" tall. It has a dark mahogany patina to it and are a little darker in real life than the pictures may show. Each have some small dings. Some small scratches and small blemishes to the finish but none have any water rings or burns on them. The overall finish is good to very good, not excellent or mint but very good. For there overall age and travels all are in good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. This item will ship in two seperate packages. intricately carved mahogany, marble-topped table, georgian style
I purchased this table in a divorce situation so I don't know the provenance but it is stunningly carved and in perfect condition. I cannot find a maker's label. It is beautifully carved all the way around so it is great out in a room and doesn't have to be against a wall. The marble top has a beveled edge and looks like strips of stone laid together. It is almost black but has a dark green tinge(see pictures) Looking at granite. The closest I see is called green ocean. The front side has a face carved in the center. This is truly a museum piece. The dimensions are 55 1/4" long. 21 5/8" deep and 30" tall. I am making this a local pick-up only but if a buyer would like to arrange pick-up and shipping with a White Glove delivery service. I am certainly open to that.

Highly Carved Mohagony Square Wood Side Table. Recessed Round Glass Top Vintage Fantastic side or end table. Vintage if not antique age. This came from an estate in the Chadds Ford PA area. It has a dark finish. I think it's mohagany but I'm not certain. It's roughly 29" tall and the top is about 22" side to side. The glass insert is removable. It has some chips at the edge that are hard to see becuase they are in the recessed area so wood is under them. The corners are raised up with fantastic carving. There are some worn areas. Where the wood is visible, but no gouges in the wood I've included close up photos of these areas. A litte Old English and they will practically disappear. This is local pick up only. NJ 08085.
