There are a couple of small trim pieces where the backsplash meets the base that are missing, a couple that are loose. The top section of the backsplash has seperated and a couple small pieces of carved trimwork are missing as a result(can be seen in the pics) There is a small a chip on the front left edge of the table surface. One of the locks is missing from one of the doors and there is a stain on the top that can be clearly seen in the photo. Im sure there are other bumps/bruises but nothing glaring. All that having been said, this piece is really stunning in person and all of the condition issues are fairly simple repairs. The flaws I mentioned are only noticed upon close scrutiny and have never been pointed out to me by anyone who has seen it in person. Original finish is in good shape, just as it appears in the photos. The color, in person, is probably somewhere between the lightest and darkest photos. The carving on this piece is AWESOME! The quartersawn grain is heavy and pronounced. Bought this piece and the matching server, which I will be listing soon) to restore but I am out of time/space. I feel I have a reasonable opening bid on this piece but if it does not sell, I will restore it and the price will go up considerably. Personally, im kinda getting burned out on the figurals and winged griffins that usually adorn pieces of this quality so its nice to see a great piece without that typical subject matter. This pretty red glitter plastic sewing box has 4 drawers and all of the items inside were there when I found it at an estate sale. I did not take anything out. In fact I noticed there were no needles or threader or thimbles so I added some and a few more buttons. The box stands approx 6 1/2 inches tall by 9 3/8 inches by 6 inches and has 4 clear plastic drawers with dividers. There are 4 little black'feet' on the bottom. There is a hole in the top back so it can be hung up but I do not think that is a good idea as it can get heavy when filled. There is a crack in the back about halfway up that does not go to either side edge. But it won't be seen with normal use. It is not marked as to manufacture.

This auction is for a nice old match box/ match safe. The box has four drawers that used to hold matches. They are all gone) The top has a nice scene in silk or linen of a pair of ladies in Victorian era clothing. The bottom of the box reads safety matches made in France. It measures just under 4 inches by 4 inches and just under an inch tall. It shows some wear with age the photo on the top shows some wear as the material has aged a bit. It displays nicely. It is hand painted with floral designs and candy apple red knobs. Two drawers are labeled for buttons, one labeled for needles, and one labeled for thread. It measures 6" tall, 5 5/8" long, and 2" wide. There are two holes at the top for hanging, and at some point someone added a thin wax covered string to use as a hanger. Both useful and unique, it will make a charming addition to your sewing room. The front panels of the drawers have a few scratches and some tiny nicks. The back panel of this cabinet is made from a thinner and more fragile piece of wood. As a result. This is a beautiful SET OF TWO old Hamilton Type-Set Drawers. Each measures approx 16 1/2 inches by 31 1/4 inches. The handle is black metal marked"Hamilton" The end of the drawer is metal and a lovely army green. There are 89 spaces in each drawer in three sizes. Would be great to store your needles. Bobbins and thread! There are three sizes of"slots" in each drawer: 1" X 1 7/8" 1" X 4" 2 1/4" X 4" One drawer has a tiny knick spot in the wood(see pictures) Can easily be smoothed out with a touch of sandpaper. Drawers have wooden pulls and no cracks are seen. Hangars need some nails pounded back in. Both hangars and drawers could use good cleaning and restaining. Hangars measure 15 3/4" long x 5 3/4" wide x 9 1/8" tall. All 4 drawers measure 15 1/4" long(without pull. pull sticks out 7/8" x 5" wide x 3 5/8" tall. All outside measurements.
