This is an antique puffy beaded dance purse or bag with a filigree frame and chain handle from the early 1900's. It is a great collectors piece. Very nice colors and design. The bag has rose colored beads on the bottom. Surrounded by midnight blue reflective beads continuing up the sides to the frame. The body of the bag is a row of black centered rose flowers with green leaves on a black and brown striped background. The beads are mixed types giving the bag a texture to the bead work. The black beads are reflective cubes, the brown beads are round, the pink beads are clear glass cubes with a rose cylinder at the core, the green beads are clear green cubes and the blue beads are peacock blue green navy irridescent cubes. The frame is a metal filigree with a bronze finish made in and marked Czecko-Slovakia. The handle is a sturdy aged ... morebrass finish chain. The measurements flat are 7 1/2 inches tall by 4 1/2 inches wide, the chain handle is 16 inches total length. The condition is very good. I can find no loose or missing beads. The original lining shows some soil and has a single small puncture hole, not a tear, maybe from a hat pin, which looks to be an easy repair. The purse has been stored in a chest with some perfume fragrance and I have not had time to air it out. It comes from a smoke free home. Given the age of the bag, I am selling it as a collectors piece, and cannot guarantee durability for use as a handbag. Northwood marketed this shape as its"Extra Deep Footed Rose Bowl" in advertisements and catalog offerings of the time. Beautiful blue color with opalescence on the crimped rim. Measurements: Approximately 4 1/2" in diameter; 4 1/4" in height. The bowl is good condition. Manufacturing defects include straw marks in the glass. Mostly in the crimped areas. A mold seam runs around the bottom quarter of the ball shaped feet, and that mold seam protrudes enough to create a lip of glass that is subject to roughness. That roughness could be considered a shallow chip or flake on one foot(as pictured) No other defects noted. SHIPPING. Large Nippon Pink Rose& Gold Beaded Bowl& 4 Matching Small Bowls Leaf Mark 1891-1911 Nippon Pink Rose Bowl& 4 Matching Small Bowls These came from a nice estate.They look like they were never used. I was told that they had been handed down over the years and only displayed in a china cabinet. All have nice bright colors and look to be in very good condition for over 100 years old! All 5 pieces have the Maple Leaf. Hand Painted& Nippon mark. From some research I did online. This mark was used by Morimura Bros. from 1891 to 1911 Includes a large 10.5" wide x 2.5" high. Scalloped Edged Bowl with 7 rows of gold painted beading with Pink Roses and different shades of Green. This weighs about 22 ounces. The large bowl has some minor wear on the gold paint. I did find one very tiny flea bite on the edge. It is so small ... moreI couldnt feel it, I needed a jewelers magnifying glass to see it. I also found a 1" hairline near the edge(see right side of the photo below) this was extremely hard to see. I had to use a magnifying glass to find it and it took a few inspections. Four Matching Bowls Also included are four matching 5.25" wide x 1.25" high. Scalloped Edged Bowls, each bowl has 7 rows of gold painted beading with Pink Roses and different shades of Green. One of the small bowls has a 1" hairline near the edge(see photo below) which was hard to see. I had to use a magnifying glass to find it. The rest of the bowls are fine. Just some minor wear on the gold paint. Each bowl weighs a little over 5 ounces. If you need more photos please email me. Shipping weight is about 5 pounds
