Each set consists of 2 steel knobs, 2 stamped steel escutcheons, 1 steel mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 steel spindle with 2 setscrews to connect the knobs. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Brass Door Set Oval Beaded Knobs Plate Lock Key Beautiful. Antique, exterior door lockset salvaged from an old. row house in Washington DC. The set consists of 2 brass knobs, 2 brass escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with brass faceplate, 2 working keys, 1 brass strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews. All brass parts are solid, brass, not plated steel. The knobs and escutcheons have lovely oval forms. Embellished with bold, beaded borders. The set was found with a beautiful patina. Which we didn't want to disturb. However, if you like you hardware bright and shiny, we could clean and polish the set for an additional charge of $30- email us after the auction. All parts are in great shape with only the typical nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on century-old hardware. ... moreHowever. There are no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or gouges. About the lock: The lock is reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. The buttons on the lock faceplate control a function. Which disables/enables the exterior knob from turning. Once the bottom button is depressed, the exterior knob will not turn, and the upper latch will remain extended, in the locked position. In essence, the upper latch acts as a deadbolt and provides an extra level of security from anyone on the outside of the door. Once the exterior knob is frozen, and the door is shut, the only way to retract the upper latch is by using the key for the top keyhole, or by turning the interior knob. This is a very convenient feature for the person inside of the house/room. No more locking and unlocking to let someone in. Simply turn the knob, open the door, let someone in, close the door and it's already locked. To disable the auto-lock feature, simply push the top button. We opened and inspected the lock. Each set consists of 2 iron knobs, 2 stamped iron escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with working key, and 1 3-section spindle with 1 setscrew and 1 securing pin. Originally. The knobs, escutcheons, and lock faceplates were copper plated. However, most of the copper has wore off over ... morethe years, leaving the parts with a nice, distressed, finish. The amount of copper plating varies from part to part(see"Group Photos" to compare) All of the locks are reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. Y&T made locks that had bigger spaces between their upper passage latches and lower deadbolt latches than other manufacturers. We have a few strike plates(keeper or receiver plates) that match up just right with the locks. But we would have to modify a few more to ensure that each lock has a matching strike plate. That is why we didn't include one with each set. If you would like a strike plate, you could purchase one from us for $7 each-email us after the auction if you're interested. The oval knobs and escutcheons feature an elegant Neo-Classical style pattern consisting of beads. Acanthus, and seashells. All parts have been cleaned of paint. Vtg Imperial Candlewick, Extra Long Oval Beaded Vanity Tray, 15.25" long
For sale is an extra long vanity tray Maker: Imperial Glass. 1930-1940's Measures: 15.25" long. 9"wide Beaded candlewick design around the edge of the tray with larger beads at the edges for handling use. This is a very heavy piece of glass. As with all vintage glassware. There are waves, bubbles, and glass crease lines and scratches on the glass. If previously used as a perfume tray, the scratches were probably the result of sliding items on the face of the tray. There is also a rough spot(flea bite) on the inside of the rim. This too can to attributed to sliding around of items. No chips, cracks. I have not seen a vanity tray this large in a really long time. Usually you only see those in the 9" length. The 2 piece set is known as"Hens On Nest" The iridescent gold glass has beautful pink. Purples, blue and green highlights. It has a beaded edge and is not marked. Size: 7"w X 5 1/2"d X 5 1/4"h- approx. dimensions Quantity: 1- Hens On Nest Condition: VERY GOOD- it shows minimal wear(5% and the only issue I can see is a bit of a mystery. There is a section on the innermost lip of the"nest" that appears to a rough mold line or straw mark that is finished over. There is a roughness when I run my finger over it but I am pretty sure it's a factory flaw- see photos although it was tough to capture. The affected area measures approximately ... more2 1/2" There are the usual pin dot bubbles. Straw and uneven mold marks- manufacturer flaws. It's still a great piece to use and display. Vintage Blue Beaded Purse as found at an estate sale. It is an oval about 6+ inches x 8+ inches + the bottom fringe of about 2" the clasp works good& is silver color, the interior is blue satin/silk and pretty good, I saw one split + definite some missing fabric on the frame, interior has a round mirror, the handle strap needs some repair to the missing beads, I think one of the fringe has a broken string& missing beads, and as far as I can tell the purse oval does not have any missing beads, I think the repair to the fringe would be minor, but the repair to the handle strap would require quite a few beads.
