For auction is a very nice desk item made by Tiffany Studios. New York. The item is called a"Rocker Blotter" and it is done in the"Grapevine" desk set pattern. The Rocker Blotter is Tiffany's most desirable with green opalescent Favrile glass and verdi green/brown patina and beaded border. The Rocker Blotter stands 1 7/8" tall and is 5 3/4" wide and is 2 15/16" deep. The Rocker Blotter displays a wonderful acid etched pattern of grape leaves and grapes over a green white opalescent Favrile art glass. It is further embellished with a beaded border. The knob on the top middle also has this acid etched Grapevine pattern and green white opal Favrile glass underneath it. The verdi green brown patina is just outstanding. The bottom of the Rocker Blotter is solid oak and it stills retains its original blotter ... morepaper attached. The Rocker Blotter is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks. Nicks, chip or dings to any of the Glass. There are no excuses to be made for this what so ever. It appears that this piece saw minimal use as there is usually damage to the oak blotter, or the glass is broken, or there is major dents in the metal. This is NOT the case here. I can find very little to complain about with this piece. The Rocker Blotter is signed on the side with the"Tiffany Studios New York" along with pattern number"995" Those of you who collect the Grapevine desk set pattern and want a museum quality Rocker Blotter in their collection. Look no further. They just don't get any better than this one. It is in excellent condition, has green glass, glass in the knob, beaded border and a killer verdi green brown patina. This is the best of the best in Tiffany's Grapevine Rocker blotters for condition and patina. Tiffany started numbering his desk set pieces usually with a 3 digit number after 1902. The other two stems have yellow and green beads. These range in length from about 8" for the shortest stem and 12" long for the longest stem. Some of the wrap on the wire stems is missing or loose. Old Victorian Antique Glass Beaded Green Velvet Dress Portion Vintage 1900 ish
This is a large portion of what may have been the skirt of a very fancy dress. Or some of these parts could be from the bodice. It's hard to tell. The velvet is so supple and soft and the most beautiful shade of green, not quite teal but mostly green. The beads are all sewn by hand and there are clusters of them. There are thousands and thousands of beads on this fabric. There is green netting on the other side of the velvet(shown) This is how I found these pieces. Altogether, this weighs about 3 to 4 pounds. It must have been a very heavy dress. It appears to be clean and does not have an odor. The pictures don't do it justice at all!

For auction is one of the hardest of the desk set items to be found and it is made by Riviere Studios of New York. The item is an"Inkwell" and it is done in the"Grapevine" desk set pattern. The patina on the metal is the most desirable green/brown. The stained glass is the green/white opalescent glass. The inkwell has some size to it as it is 4 1/8" tall. 3 5/8" wide and 3 1/2" deep. This inkwell displays an acid etched grapevine overlay pattern on green/white opalescent glass. The exterior of the frame has the double beaded border. The patina is about as good as it gets. It has the very organic green brown coloring. The inkwell is supported by 4 small round ball shaped feet. This inkwell looks very similar to the ones that Tiffany Studios. New York made. The green to white opalescent glass is an identical ... morematch in most cases. Riviere Studios competed heavily with Tiffany Studios for their share in the fancy goods desk set items market place. Their quality was almost as good and it is believed that several workers from Tiffany Studios who made these desk sets for Tiffany migrated to Riviere Studios. The inkwell is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks. Nicks, or chips to any of the Glass. It still retains its original glass insert with no damage to the glass. The beaded border is tight and shows no signs of damage. There some ink staining on the top. This is pictured and typical of normal age use. The inkwell is signed on the underside bottom side with the impressed mark"Riviere Studios" on the top side of a horizontal diamond impressed shape along with"New York" also impressed on the bottom side of this diamond. This is a an extremely nice inkwell in excellent condition. When these are found there is usually some kind of damage to the glass. I am very happy to report that this one has"No Cracked Glass" These inkwells from Riviere Studios are much rarer than their competitor Tiffany Studios. Some of their inkwells will bring
