Just spectacular in design with the wonderful polka-dots on the lower section. The silver-tone frame has a stylized floral design running from side to side. The bag opens with a kiss lock and the sides line up perfectly when closed. Size: Measures 14-1/8” from the top of the handle to the bottom of the fringe– which alone is 2” The width at top is 5” and just where the fringe begins is 5-1/2” wide. Features: Inside is a wonderful light beige lining with a tone-on-tone geometric pattern and with cording around the edge that attaches to the frame. There is also a pocket in the lining. Victiorian Era Black Glass Beaded Trim With Fringe
Pair of right and left beaded trim pieces with beaded fringe. These were sewn onto something at one time. As is typical of the era, trim was removed when the item itself was worn out or no longer being used. The motif itself is approximately 6" long and the fringe is about the same length. Width is a little under 4" The fringe on both motifs differs just a bit. So my guess is that these were probably made as mirror image copies and some of the beads in the fringe are missing. I would suggest reinforcing or even restringing the fringe strands, but otherwise, the trim is in good condition for its age, and not too fragile for re-use. Will include some of the loose beads that were present in the bottom of a box of similar trim, for use in restoration of the fringe. Please contact me if you have any questions. I had a terrible time trying to get good pictures of this item.I could never get the blackness to photograph(it always looked faded) The black is not faded or gray as the pictures appear. And the beads came out looking rather iridescent when. In fact, they are black as coal.This must have belonged to a very small woman or a young girl as the size appears to be zero. I'm a 4 and did not dare try it on! And, whomever owned it must have been affluent as this seems to be a very expensive hand tailored and detailed item. The bead work is exquisite!

It is very large and heavy with copper& brass beads that are large. There are 30 strands of beads on each side. There are 15 large copper& brass beads and a brass clasp. It weighs 14 ounces. It is exquisite. The brass clasp in the back is not very shiny. Shows some wear. It can be polished but I didn't want to touch it. On one of the connectors for the beads is her signature. It is 39” long. There are no beads missing. I have another necklace by Luisa Conti that is beige/taupe colored beads and copper& brass beads for sale.
