In my opinion a THAI 15th to 16thc SAWANKHOLAK SUKHOTHAI REGION GREEN BLUE TINTED Celadon glazed. FISH SHAPED UPPER NECK DESIGNED WINE JAR VASE. This is made from thick hand formed clay, the deep red clay is from the Northern Sukhothai region. The body has deep incised ribbing as shown, the lower body of the vase is not glazed. the figure obviously is an interesting reference example. This was bought at source in the Far East in the mid 1990's. The item is in fine reference order. Chip free. Age glaze crazing to the glaze,some age loss to the glaze of the dish mouth and tail.
