Very interesting Chinese poster advertising cigarettes. Circa 1920s. The poster was produced by the China Da Dong Tobacco Company. A company that was not as well known as Sun or Qidong. The poster depicts a beautiful Chinese woman in traditional costume in an interesting sitting position. Showing this much legs and in a seated position was very uncommon for Chinese women in the old days.Making this poster very rare. The name of the company Da Dong China Tobacco Company is printed on top of the poster. The poster was designed by Qiquang and his stamp and signature are in the left hand side. The metal rods and the cloth loop are intact. Part of the metal rod on top is separated from the paper and the corner has a small tear. Otherwise the poster is in excellent condition. Genuine 1930 Chinese cigarette poster. Moneyback guaranteed. The poster features a young woman sitting by a pond. Two swans are in the water next to her. On top of the poster is Chinese greetings of Happy New Year. On the bottom are two packets of Hatamen cigarettes. Below that is a 1930 calendar in Chinese. Below the calendar and among elaborate bordering is the British American Tobacco Co. BAT) logo. The poster was distributed by Chi Tung Tobacco Company who was also distributor for international companies such as W.D. Howell of Bristol. London and T.C. Williams. Apparently Chi Tung was one of the biggest tobacco distributors in China in the 1930s. The name of British Tobacco Co. appears on the cigarette packets. Antique Chinese cigarette poster produced by one of the biggest cigarette companies in China. Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Co. was based in Shanghai. It distributed many brands of Chinese cigarettes. It was the biggest Chinese own cigarette company in China in the 1900s. The poster features a young woman sitting in front a bed of roses. Name of the company appears on top of the poster in Chinese. On the bottom are nine brands of the company's cigarettes. They are the Seven Star. Golden Dragon, Pearls, Light House, The Raven, Blue Ribbon, Great Wall, The globe and the Golden Ax. The name of the company also appeared on some of the cigarette packets. The poster is in perfect condition. There is no damage except for a couple of pin holes near the top. 1936 Chinese poster advertising cigarettes. The poster features a lady wearing a traditional Chinese costume standing by a plum blossom tree. There are six packets of cigarettes featured at the bottom. The brands are: Double Crane. Victory, Three Castles, Purple Mountain, Ruby Queen and Chenmien. A 1936 calendar in Chinese is also featured on the bottom. The poster was distributed by Chi Tung Tobacco Company. Its name appears on the left hand side and on the top of the poster. Chi Tung Tobacco was a Chinese tobacco company represented British Tobacco Co. BAT) and W.D. H. O. Wells of Bristol. London. Their names appeared on some of the cigarette packets. Very Rare 1930s Chinese Cigarette Poster Produced In Japanese Occupied Manchuria
Early 1930s Chinese poster advertising cigarettes. Very rare. The poster was produced by Huafeng Tobacco Company. Its name appears on the bottom of the poster in Chinese. Its address in Harbin is below the company name. The poster features a Chinese lady in a traditional Chinese costume. She is also wearing a western style jacket. Advertising slogan on top of the poster. It says: Please smoke Manila. Horseball, Miss and Fly Eagle brands of cigarettes. There are four packets of the above cigarette brands on four corners of the poster. Name of the company appears in three of the packets. Huafeng Tobacco Company was owned by Japanese and operated out of the city of Harbin. Which was part of Manchuria in the 1930s. Manchuria was invaded by Japanese in 1931 and a Manchukao was formed with a puppet Chinese government headed by the last Chinese ... moreemperor. Manchuria was returned to China in 1949. Huafeng's product was quite popular in places like Beijing and Shanghai. The poster features two ladies from the Chinese classic story called'The Three Kingdoms' The picture refers to the wife of a famous general. A packet of Double Crane cigarette featured on the bottom. The cigarette poster was distributed by Chi Tung Tobacco Co. who was distributor of the British American Tobacco in China. It was one of the most influential Chinese cigarette companies in China in the early 1900s. Name of Chi Tung Tobacco appears on top of the poster and below the picture. The poster was painted by Bo Siang. He was a famous Chinese painter and his works are on display in many museums in the world. The metal rods are intact.
