This is made from thick hand formed clay. Traditional si Satchanalai pottery's"stint" mark to the under base foot. This was bought at source in the Far East in the mid 2000's. A very decorative example, THE LARGEST that I have collected. Part of my Asian based collections. The item is in fine reference order. Glaze crazing. Wear and tear to the foot rim. This is made from thick hand formed clay, fully hand painted with a fine detail. This was bought at source in the Far East in the mid 1990's. I believe this is from a family shrine, and the figure would have been an attendant figure. The item is in fine reference order. Marked wear to the glaze of the water dropper hole section. SUKHOTHAI Celadon glazed, TUKATA SIA KABAN, FERTILITY FIGURE: A SEATED BEAR BREASTED WOMAN: AN ANCESTOR FIGURE, A SYMBOL AND"REQUEST" FOR FERTILITY( RAIN) AND FAMILY HARMONY. This was bought at source in the Far East in the mid 2000's, and is a little more unusual with the figure standing alone, not holding anything, note the legs too: very unusual shape/design.
