Unusual Chinese poster circa early 1900s. The poster depicts a young lady posing in front of a peach blossom tree. This poster was made by a studio to use as a sample to show customers such as cigarette companies so they can choose. There is no company logo or products. The paper on which the poster was printed is much thinner than normal posters. It also was printed on a smaller paper and a border was added. It might have a backing at some point of time. I have photographed the border you can see it on one of the photos. It is printed in lithograph and the quality is very good. There is no metal rod or cloth loop. This listing is for a Unusual Vintage Antique Middle East Asian Sgraffiato Champleve Pottery Vase. Beautiful and intriguing. Not sure of the origins. Believe to be middle eastern or asian. Carved and hand painted patterns and images of fish. Flowers, flags, banners and what looks like some sort of ancient sailing ship with pottery in its hold on two sides as well as three fish on two sides. Stoneware or red ware pottery with a dark brown slip. Have not seen one like it. No signature of makers mark. Unknown age. Size is 10 3/4 inches tall by about 9 inches at its widest point. Weighs about 10 pounds. Vase is in very good condition, no cracks and no repairs, some minor paint loss, one small glaze chip on the outside top rim. Some other small nicks. Two unusual spherical globe-shaped bowls on stands. I think probably intended as ashtrays, but useful as desk tidies for items such as paperclips. The smaller bowl(10cm tall and 7cm across) is in lacquer(I think. a deep reddish brown colour and with a hand painted oriental landscape on the top/ back. The larger bowl(11cm tall and 8cm across) seems to be in some kind of dark brown bakelite-like plastic, with an applied motif of a dragon in gold. There's a little surface wear to the smaller bowl, and a fine crack to the larger(please see detail) but nothing too obvious, and generally both in good vintage order(1930's or so? UNUSUAL VINTAGE PERSIAN ASIAN LONG ORIENTAL RUG HALL RUNNER SILK COTTON WOOL
VERY LONG ORIENTAL RUG/ HALL RUNNER. This is a very beautiful rug however i am not a rug expert so i make no attempt to try and work out which country it came from. Or what is is made from. The rug is very soft and has a very tight woven fabric, it could be silk or cotton but i am unsure. The colours are extremely vivid and the rug is 225cm long including tassels and 68cm wide. Overall appearance is extremely good i cant see any marks, but be aware this is a used item. The rug is very ornate and has been stored rolled, not folded. I cant really help with questions as this is not my field of expertise, this is none the less a lovely item and will look wonderful in a long hallway. Vintage Oriental Lacquered Box Very Unusual See Photographs
This box measures six and a half inches in length. Three and a half inches in width and three and a half inches in height. It is hinged so it can be separated in half, and show the four drawers. it has enamelled pictures in the top and front showing birds and animals amongst the lotus blossoms.
