Beautiful Handcarved Wood Handled Dipper with Coconut Bowl. It has a carved wooden loon/bird with outspread wings on the inside of the bowl. Leaf type carvings on the 10" long handle. The handle also has two areas for the thumb rest when dipping with it and a small hole to add a string to for hanging. The coconut shell bowl measures about 3-1/4" in diameter and is about 2" deep. She loved going to rummage saIes so I expect she picked it up a long time ago as it was at the very back of a top cupboard. I held onto it but now it's time to let it go. This small antique bronze tea pot has a branch handle. A blossom for the final, and what looks like a bamboo shoot for the spout. Underneath is a Chinese reign mark that I am unable to identify. The tea pot boasts a beautiful patina throughout and is darker then the pictures show. The tea pot show light wear to raised areas and surface wear that is expected from such an old piece. This is a Chawan by Raku Tannyu 10. It was given to me by an old man I lived by in Sasebo Japan about 7 years ago. I took care of his yard for a year and he gave me this. He used it every day to drink his tea. I did not know how precious it was until I did some research. It is by Raku Tannyu 10. There is a similar bowl in the British Museum. When I contacted the Raku family they immediately verified what it was. The texture is very interesting. It has little pock marks where some golden yellow color shines through(see large detail picture) I do not know what the box says. Japanese Hand painted Ceremonial Tea or Sake Cups Geisha/Pagoda Design
What I have here I believe is a pair of ceremonial Japanese tea cups. These cups came from my grandfathers estate and were brought back with him when he was stationed in Japan during the occupation of Japan after WWll. He returned in 1947. These cups are absolutely beautiful and have never seen a drop of tea or even water. The original box does show some signs of wear. The cups are signed by the maker in red but I'm not sure who it is(see pics) beautiful hand painted and gilded gold accents. I also believe that these cups were not made for export as they are not stamped made in occupied Japan

Wonderful Japanese Ceremonial Porcelain Kyusu/Tea Set with 4 Cups
Lovely Japanese Kyusu Gilded Porcelain Tea Set Beautiful side handle teapot and 4 cups. Teapot is painted with three separate scenes of flowers. A mountain landscape and a third large scene of what appears to be a student conversing with his much older teacher. The teapot is decorated with lush gilding and painted in varying shades of green. Pink, orange, white and red. Extensive moriage. The cups have a gilded rim and smaller versions of the scenes from the teapot. They feature the same extensive moriage and colors. All of the pieces are stamped with gold characters on a red background. The cups are 3 5/8" in diameter and stand about 2" tall. The teapot is about 4 3/4" tall with lid and about 6 1/2" wide at the handle. All pieces are in very good to excellent condition. This fantastic piece measures appx 9.5" in diameter and is 1.5" deep. There are care instructions for the lacquerware as well. Overall condition is Fair to Good- Item shows signs of light wear and use. There is some discoloration to the inside gold at the corners as shown in photos.
