It's quite a weighty piece and it features a nicely detailed floral/ butterfly scene with two Geishas and a simple gilt edge. I'm not an expert but I believe that it could be from the Meiji? period. It is in good condition although the pin section is missing from the reverse. The porcelain has some fine light crazing and the brass has some patina and marks which I've decided not to polish. This is a very nice and well made tea or coffee cup made in Japan. It has the makers mark on the bottom but my research has come up with no conclusions as to who made it and when. It is a porcelain cup and it is considerably thicker than most tea or coffee cups I've seen or handled. This cup is in nice shape with no cracks or chips. Up for bid is a decorative 18" foot bath in exceptional condition. No chips or cracks just some discoloration on the bottom surface caused by floor rub. Perfect except for some of the gold wore off the handle and 2 chips on the outside edge of the pouring spout. see last picture. As with most point and shoot cameras. Shades and colors are hard to capture exactly. In most cases the actual item will look better than the photo but it may be lighter or darker than pictured.
